We are regular visitors to ‘The Old Hall’ at Timperley, Altrincham and we highly recommend it. We keep returning due to the good food, drink, nice staff and its picturesque location. The place is also kept clean and tidy. We sometimes sit outside on the spacious patio and watch the golfers on the 18 hole course that surrounds the Old Hall. They include many special offers like the 2 for 10 every day. Two main courses for just £10. Monday night is Grill night with all steaks at half price. Tuesday is ‘Pudding Club’ and all puddings are just £1.50 each! Wednesday is ‘Curry night’, £5.25 with a free drink. This one is our favourite… Thursday night buy two main course meals and get a free bottle of wine! Friday night is ‘Fish Night’, traditional fish & chips for just £4.25
We shall be having our Christmas dinner there again too, which was excellent last year. We highly recommend the experience.

Being "frequent" visitors to The Old Hall, we were exceptionally satisfied with the service and the meal. In recent months we have noticed the quality of the food prepared has dramatically improved, this said, certainly keeping us going back for more!

After trying restaurant out a number of time since opening and having okish meal went last night and had a most outstanding ribeye steak - done to perfection. They now have a specials board also. Have not been in for a good few months but will now be returning.

We thought we would try the Old Hall and we were pleasantly suprised. After it's opening it has settled down and the food and service was good.
Lots of choice on the menu and we were told a special board will be arriving soon.

The Old Hall has recently under gone a renovation and change hands to Hydes brewery. The inside has been totally modernised and actually looks great. We went on a weekday night at around 6.30pm and were surprised by how busy it was. But it has only just opened. The menu is quite restrictive and if you are a vegetarian don't bother! I had the mussels which tasted ok, but looked like they had been hit with a hammer. My partner had the black pudding which he said was nice. The main course were ok if on the small side. The big problem here is service. the waiters /waitreses make constant mistakes and can be heard shouting to each other in the kitchen. We even heard a really really loud 'Gordon Ramsey' style out burst form the chef which was disgusting. Everyone in the restaurant raised their eyebrows and were a bit embarrased. Therefore the ambiance was non existant. I won't be returning for a good while till things settle down. But going off comments from other diners who were there as well, we may not be the only ones. In a nutshell, ok food, but they need to buck the service up and fast.
