I have visited the Old Mill three times in the last month, the first time I was in a party of 5 and we had to wait over an hour for our meal, the second time again in a party of 5 when we had to send one of our orders back as the salmon was not as "fresh" as it should have been. The third time in a party of 4 when 3 of us ordered a chicken dish as our main course, this arrived along with side dishes of salad and chips. The chicken was presented on a bed of "sauce" which I can only liken to barbecue sauce which I never ever put on my food, it spoiled the meal completely, may I suggest if you must include this "sauce" with the chicken meal that you at least put it on one side or preferably in a side dish. Also for some reason the chef decided for me that I would like vinaigrette on my salad -NO! I am a big girl now and would prefer to add "sauces" vinaigrettes, other condiments myself and do not wish to have them added for me prior to being served. It will be a long time before I cross the doorstep of The Old Mill again.

I Hadn't visited this place for a long time, in fact i think the last time i did it was trying to be a night club!, anyway the place is very much a more relaxed place to be than it once was these days!, and the food was excellent quality with the staff very polite, the waitress did get my bill mixed up initially but the problem was rectified with no major fuss.Great Ales, Stella on tap, and a generally nice place to be, would like to see the kids playground 're-appear' however as we do have kids to entertain as sure this place is nice in the summer months by the stream.

Awful restaurant, very bossy Manager who would not let us have a drink at the bar before our meal, insisted that we sat at a table! Ordered stuffed mushrooms it arrived with 2 mushrooms closed cup mushrooms at that so hardly big, another of our party had poached pears and prosuitto salad to start and it took all of 2 mouthfuls to eat, pears were tinned! Soup was cold, and mains decidedly average.Desserts were slightly better, cheesecake with summer berries had half a strawberry as the 'berries' misleading to say the least, wont be wasting my money there again

Not bad food but have had things overcooked , slightly expensive for what it is

Absolutely brilliant. You must visit. The ambience is perfect, the antipasti for 2 is a must have
