About Olive Kitchen and Bar

Olive Kitchen and Bar opened in August 2024 just off the A303 at Martock Workspace, with views out over Ham Hill and the Somerset countryside. Modern and fragrant food from across the Mediterranean and beyond. Breakfast, lunch, mezze, takeaway, cakes, cocktails, local beer and cider, wines, barista coffee and soft drinks with gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options. Served in an indoor tented-style seating area with plenty of outdoor seating too.

I have been here a few times and the food hasn’t disappointed. Yesterday I took my friend for her birthday and we were both saying it was the best chicken burger we’ve ever had , the flavour combination was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back to try more of the menu! Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere, a real hidden gem!

A great lunch time venue, Olive is always my first choice for lunch or just a coffee and cake, (never just a coffee). This time it was lunch, the pork was delicious, presentation was excellent and the whole meal was a delight. Unfortunately it left no room for dessert but I can always go back for that another time. I really appreciate the accessibility of the whole place. There are ramps to the entrance, space between tables to move around and an accessible toilet which makes the venue so pleasurable to visit. Whenever I visit, there is always a warm welcome from the staff, both those I have come to know and those who are new. They give the impression that nothing is too much trouble. Have I said the food is amazing?

Visited twice now within the last 2 weeks. Can't fault it really. The staff are polite, easy to converse with and very knowledgeable about the dishes. The food was excellent , freshly cooked , great value and catered for all appetites eg vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Would definitely recommend it.

On our anniversary my wife suggested Olive as she had a good experience earlier in the year with our daughter. In summary we were both very disappointed. We were let down by very poor customer service. 1. We were caught up in traffic ,texted( as phone went unanswered) to inform of delay. This wasn't acknowledged. 2. My burger was cold and chips were tepid, but it was tasty. Aspects,if my wife's meal were also only warm. 3. We were then ignored by waiting staff for over 30 mins. So didn't have time for cake. 4 . We were not given an itemised bill,which in our experience is very unusual. 5. No cheery goodbye, thank you for your custom etc.

Had a mezze and my husband had a steak burger, both absolutely delicious. My mezze was incredible, lots of different flavours and texture, oh the blue cheese croqueta was SO good, oh and the pickled rhubarb and the aubergine chutney!… I could go on and on, 10/10 well worth a visit could eat it every day
