THIS USED TO BE A LOVELY RESTAURANT BUT NOT ANY MORE!! I WENT FOR A MEAL LAST WEEK AND IT WAS AWFUL, THE STAFF COULDNT BE BOTHERED AND WE WAITED 15MIN FOR THEM TO CLEAR OUR STARTERS THE FOOD LACKED FLAVOUR AND WAS AWFUL PRESENTED, I HAVE HEARD FROM QUITE A FEW FRIENDS THAT IT HAD GONE DOWN SINCE LAST YEAR BUT HAD TO TRY FOR MYSELF, WOULD NOT RECOMEND IT TO ANY ONE!! THEY WANT NEW STAFF WHO CAN DO THERE JOBS, NEW CHEFS WHO CAN ACTUALLY COOK AND A WHOLE NEW REVAMP!! I WASN'T THE ONLY ONES THAT NIGHT TO COMPLAIN! I USED TO GO ALOT LAST YEAR BUT HAVE HEARD THE HEAD CHEF HAS LEFT AND IT HAS GONE DOWN EVER SINCE, THEYD BE BETTER OFF CLOSING THE PLACE DOWN! AS EVERYONE IS SAYING IT IS NOW RUBBISH!!

Have eaten there several times. Food plentiful and good quality. Service good. Reasonably priced. Would recommend to friends and family. We travel 10 miles to eat there so it must be worth the effort!

i think the red lion is the best place in Wigan to visit for a night out or just a meal with friends and family? go there regular and love every time i go. The staff are friendly and I can tell all the food is cooked to order. Great place to go!!!!!

Fantastic food, lovely lovely girls and a real genuine atmosphere, people looking after you. The prices were fine. You can choose 3 courses at 4.95 in the day which to be honest I don't know how they do it because the portions are huge and so delicious. There are other menus too with plenty to choose from. We go here quite regular and have become very familiar with the staff. It's our favourite haunt.

nice restaurant food was cheap and looked presentable portions a little over facing but on the whole for 5 pounds you get what you pay for

The Red Lion is one of the best if not the best places to have a nice meal out in the Wigan area, we find the service and the food great you cant go wrong eating at the red lion

Fantastic menu, delicious food, and with a new 3 courses for £4.95 special on I can see me back there several times a week! Definitely a favourite for me now!

Wow! What an experience. The food, the staff, the ambience... officially now my favourite restaurant. A family run and owned place with that special something which makes you want to dine there every day!
