Unusual US-style diner housed bizarrely within a genuine half-timbered building, off the A22, from which it derives its name. Food is American and of a high standard - the TexMex chilli is excellent, and hot! Portions are large - not recommended before visiting the Knockhatch dry slope as we did on our first visit! Excellent for kids: TVs show cartoons that they can follow via wireless headphones while adults chat. Easily the best roadside cafe I've ever visited and well worth fitting in to a south coast day trip.
