The food is always amazing and great value - a lovely old coaching house in the heart of Garstang - highly recommended.

Haven't been for a while but still the great food and service even though they were short staffed, always a favourite and won't be as long now the weather's changing

A very disappointing visit to the Royal Oak compared with many visits in the past. The staff were helpful and pleasant but the choices and quality of the food were far below what we have experienced in the past. We will not be going again which is a pity because I have always enjoyed Robinson beers.

Our experience for Sunday lunch bore no resemblance to the positive reviews on Tripadvisor. Service friendly enough but painfully slow (taking order, delivering food and clearing away), as clearly understaffed. No check back. Food appalling quality, especially given the prices, e.g. the tiniest sliver of thin unidentifiable over fried fish; frozen chips all served on a tiny plate. No slice of lemon and not even tartare sauce as described - £18.95. - shocking. Roast dinners were slightly better with fresh vegetables and home made Yorkshire pudding, but frozen roast potato and thin slices of beef from a catering pack with its generic gravy - £17.95! Bar manager explained lunch had been prepared by the assistant manager and they were advertising for a chef. I hope this happens soon before you lose more of your customers. Fish and chips deducted from bill at our request, but sadly our special occasion lunch was spoilt. Surroundings pleasant and beer in good condition.

Visited the Royal Oak on Sunday and two of us had the roast dinner which was absolutely delicious, everything cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire puddings were massive! Husband had lasagna and he said it was delicious, and the portions were all very generous The staff were all amazing, the pub was very busy and they all worked so hard to see everyone had everything they needed. Definitely recommend!!

My friends and I visited yesterday for lunch. A corner table near the window had been reserved for us, in a cosy dining room, which is beautifully decorated and the radiators were on full! We were waited on by a friendly chap , so no running backwards and forwards. Our delicious meals arrived piping hot and beautifully presented. Would highly recommend . Thank you
