Absolutely great place! The landlord and lady are fantastic people - very friendly and talkative. The food is brilliant - definitely recommend one of Steve's steaks! The locals are very friendly, and the waitresses are, although slightly shy, very good. Come here for a great dinner and great company
Royal Oak Inn

Royal Oak Inn
i turned up here with 5 friends on a saturday night, & could not fault the helpfulness of all the staff. they turned an average night into an excellent one. we shall certainly be telling our friends and to quote a saying, 'we'll be back!!'
Royal Oak Inn
nice pub, people and food tasty & hot. Very clean restaurant and good to see a no smoking restaurant unlike others that are in the same area's as the BAR'S, the food is of a standard that is acceptable to the area and in line with the pub in keeping a tradition ( not mutton dressed as lamb)
keep it up.
Royal Oak Inn
Good company and atmosphere in this lovely old village pub, with prices that both the locals and tourists can afford - unlike their competitors in the village!
Royal Oak Inn
Awfull place, after having read the rave reviews I thought it would be superb, however it seems the wonderwoman chef and her husband have moved to another pub in the same village called The earl of Portsmouth. The Landlord of The oak in the brief conversation I had with him just moaned about his famous neighbours in the Portsmouth.
Royal Oak Inn
The Royal Oak is a lovely old Devon Inn with a friendly Bar and a quiet 'no smoking' Resaurant. As local residents my husband & I eat there regularly. The atmosphee is so friendly to both locals & visitors that some times it is hard to leave!
The food is superb and Sue, the wonderwoman chef, creates the most wonderful dishes that is is always difficult to make that final choice, (the local smoked trout is to die for!!!!!)
We are so fortunate to have this great eatery on our doorstep....who needs to drive elsewhere?
Royal Oak Inn
