About Sage and Vine

Sage and Vine is a new Carlisle eatery specialising in Mediterranean tapas, mezze and pizza. There are nine different pizzas to choose from, all served piping hot from the Valoriani wood-fired pizza oven and they also do sharing boards and dips as well as small plates such as Patatas Bravas, Cod Cheeks and Glazed Chorizo. The food is complemented by a good selection of wines, beers and cocktails. Sage and Vine is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday, right through from 12 noon.

As part of our day, travelling from Crewe to Carlisle by the steam train Blue Peter, we booked for lunch at Sage and Vine. It is diffiuclt to fault the food, service and value for money. Every single tapas plate was delicious with the crowning glory being the chargrilled pineapple with coconut icecream. Service was very friendly and enthusiastic at all times. As it was a mid week lunchtime, the restaurant was not full but with carefully chosen music the atmosphere was fine. Highly, highly recommended.

First time at sage and vine and was very impressed. The food was delicious ( but we ordered too much lol) . The service and staff were excellent. It was really busy and the only drawback was that it was extremely noisy-so chatting was really difficult.

We had a wonderful meal at the Grape and Vine. We would definitely recommend it. The food was excellent. We had a pizza and two plates, both very good indeed. Our servers were exceptional. Service was superb. Everyone was so attentive and welcoming and they all worked so well as a team, particularly in this hot weather. We cannot thank you enough. We'll be back.
