Dined at your restaurant on Saturday, 27 April and had the best fish & chips ever the batter was out of this world! Would gladly eat there again but it's a bit far from Greater London.

Visit dated 26th February 2010 We visited Sams Chop House to celebrate my birthday, we hadn't reserved a table and considering how busy it was - we were accommodated with politeness and efficiency. What a great evening we had, excellent live jazz in the background, wonderful building and decor - only topped by the quality of the food. We stuck to the "Express Menu" which comes in at £36 for three - any two courses each. However, just because you choose the cheaper option does not mean you receive any less in terms of quality - no complaints about quality or presentation of the dishes available. Just a week ago we ate out in Leicester Square two nights on the trot, we paid an average of £55 for the three of us to eat worse than bland, frozen food - 1 course each and a bottle of wine. Compare that to £63 for 2 courses each, wine, coffee and food to die for... Its good to be "home".

It's a nice place, and the food was very well presented. Excellent waiting staff. Unfortunately, I ordered the corned beef starter and fish pie main course and they were both a little bland. They needed a few herbs and spices adding to give it a little flavour. A couple of the barmen looked bored too which was a negative. A nice experience, but it needs more flavour.

To be honest I hadn't really heard much about this place but with a slight hangover and a carb craving popped along on Sunday to a homecooked style meal without the effort and washing up. We got there about 1:30 and the jazz band was playing, the restaurant was quiet full and had a good atmosphere. We had the 2 course menu and to my surprise had a complimentary glass of wine, hair of the dog, all for £14.95. I had the Salmon which was wonderful and my boyfriend had the roast beef diner which was a good size, even for him, and came rare just how he likes it. If you don't like your beef rare it maybe worth asking before you order to have it cooked a bit more as this seemed to be the norm here. All in all a very worth while trip and i would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
