Looking at the other reviews on this site, many people seem to have had a great experience at Santino, so perhaps during my visit they were just having an off day, however... I visited the restaurant with 3 friends last night. The first thing we ordered was bread and olives to share, there were several olives but unfortunately only 3 small pieces of bread between 4, as such we had ask the waiter to bring enough bread for all of us. My starter of ribs were incredibly fatty and tough, as were the steaks myself and a friend ordered - it just seemed as though there was an issue in preparing and cooking the meat. I decided against a dessert, however one friend ordered 2 scoops of icecream, which when it arrived was tasty but tiny. Not so bad in itself, but when you're being charged almost a fiver it leaves a bit of a bad taste in the mouth. Not great all in all, although I would mention that the service was very good.

Santino's Bury Went on Saturday and had a superb meal with service and wine to match on ala carte menu. Returned yesterday for special offer any starter or dessert plus any pasta or pizza for 10.95 up to 7.00 pm.Brilliant! Cannot recommend Santinos too high!Give it a try!!

Went to this restaurant on a Thursday evening.. definitely offers a little more special than others in Bury - as others have said more in line with Manchester establishments. Service was impeccable..We wee both delighted with our steaks ( a treat on a school night) matched with a lovely bottle of red..there is a good selection and we will be along for the wine tasting!

This restaurant is a really great addition to Bury. We are regulars at San Carlo and Don Giovanni in Manchester the food at this restaurant is on a par with both. The fish was superb with an excellent choice of wine too

What a little gem in Bury!!! Food, atmosphere and service were second to none. Wouldn't be out of place as a city centre restaurant. Value for money - would recommend to anyone who wanted somewhere a little more special to dine. Well done!

Visited this restaurant after searching through Sugarvine, and so glad we did. This is no "ordinary Italian" restaurant, bordering on the fine dine experience, and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere I could recommend highly enough. The staff were very attentive and the food delightful. A great addition to Bury. Well done guys
Hard To Impress
Went to this restaurant with 3 others for a special occasion. A welcome change from the run of the mill restaurants found in Bury. The menu is varied, I would recommend the Pizzas which are fired in a wood burning oven. The service was slick and friendly with complimentary limoncello brought to our table. Will definitely return

My partner and I spent our first child-free evening in over three years at this new restaurant during it's first week of opening. We were not disappointed with any aspect of our four hour experience. The restaurant was busy but not uncomfortably so; the service was the right side of attentive without being intrusive and the food was exceptional with nothing whatsoever to fault it. - from the garlic bread we shared whilst choosing our meal to the desserts that rounded off our evening (Frederick's ice cream was definitely a bonus for me). If I had to make one minor criticism it would be about the wine list which, though not extensive, was a little more expensive than we're accustomed to. Our bottle of Barbera cost £22 when we usually pay £16-£18 and as this was a kind of celebration we were disappointed to discover that the bottle of Barolo (£39) was sold out leaving us to settle for an Amarone at £45. Thus the wine accounted for almost 50% of the final bill of £130 for the two of us! In fairness we were treating ourselves as ordinarily we don't use taxis and don't spend more than £20 on wine to accompany our meal so the average bill would probably be closer to £50. We shall definitely be returning, with kids, and would certainly recommend Santino to anyone who loves Italian food, with excellent service in comfortable surroundings.
