This used to be my favourite restaurant. Note the word 'used'. On my most recent visit a fairly acceptable meal was let down by poor service. Its unfortunate that the days of exceptional food and outstanding customer service left The Seafood Restauarant when the chef and restaurant manager did!

A new fish restaurant just outside Plymouth on the road to Kingsbridge. The interior is smart and bright, and by controlling the lights they manage to create a intimate atmosphere after dusk. Fish only (yes, there is steak for the incorrigible). I was surprised to find halibut on the menu: a particularly challenging fish to cook fresh and indeed, the chef did not manage to serve up anything interesting: the halibut was rather bland and, well, halibuty. All other dishes were superb though. The waiting staff was rather sloppy we found: forgetting orders, forgetting who ordered what, loudly chatting around the bar, sorting linen on the floor when some guests were still eating and not noticing us for 20 minutes when we wanted to pay. However, I trust this is not their usual behaviour.

What a fantastic place, food of the highest quality at a very modest price, and the service any restaurant would be proud to have. Will be visiting from london again

What an excellent example of what can be done with fresh local produce. The food was stunning, all the flavours complimented each other superbly and the desert really was something special! The restaurant manager was charming and witty, and chose a delightful wine that enhanced our experience even more. Well worth a visit or two!
