I had a takeaway from the Shoboraj and I have to say the meal was tremendous on the whole. I was a bit disappointed with the prawn puree starter as the sauce was made too dry that all I could taste was a burnt one. However, the puri was cooked perfectly. Just a shame that they sent out that starter otherwise I would have rated the meal 10 out of 10.

We visited the Shoboraj on Friday evening last, and on our arrival we were greeted by owner of the restaurant Chunu Miah and taken to our table. The restaurant is very pleasantly decorated with some fabulous oil painting of the raj polo players and other Bangladeshi paintings, a choice of well suited background music was playing, which we felt made the atmosphere in the restaurant well suited. Our starters arrived and I must say the King Prawn Butterfly was the biggest one I had ever seen, and tasted was out of this world, and served with a tarta sauce ' nice '. Once our starters had been finished we had a nice break and our main course was served a short while later. I had the Machli Biran fish and wasn't disappointed. All in all we had a great night and would like to thank all the staff at the Shoboraj and of course the Miah brothers for there superb hospitality and great night.

Never been disappointed in all the years I have dined there. The new look to the restaurant gives a very calm feel to the atmosphere. The staff are always a pleasure to see, best curry restaurant in Newport by a mile!!

Just returned from another fabulous evening at the Shoboraj. The food, as always, was excellent and very fresh with a wonderful selection of dishes suitable for vegetarians as well.
Being somewhat of a curry aficionado, this still beats any of the many other restaurants I have been to in Bradford, London and Liverpool.
The staff are always friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I can heartily recommend the channa balti and the spinach is wonderful.
Will definitely be back again soon!
