About Sing Faye Chinese Restaurant

Sing Faye is a large but inviting Chinese restaurant on the main East Lancs Road in St Helens. Set within elegant and stylish surroundings, the 160-seater restaurant offers an extensive à la carte menu which includes a fine selection of fresh fish and seafood including sea bass, lobster, oysters, prawns and scallops. Food is cooked in the Cantonese, Peking and Szechuan styles with the emphasis overall on preserving the natural flavour of the food. Vegetarians can look forward to an interesting range and there are gluten-free and English menus too. An in-house dim sum chef also creates such favourites as har gau, delicate prawn dumplings and siu mai of ground pork and prawn. Sing Faye has a good choice of wines from around the world and champagnes including Moet & Chandon and Dom Perignon. The large private car park means it is well suited for families, parties and corporate events with a separate function room for up to 60 guests. Sing Faye is open from 5pm Mondays and Wednesday to Saturday and right through from 2pm on Sundays.

Went for my daughter’s birthday. Food was gorgeous. Service ok, staff hang around a little, felt rushed & pushed for a tip at the end. Happy to pay it but don’t like feeling like we have to tip. Lovely restaurant though.

Food was of excellent quality. A little bit on the pricey side. £106 for 2 people. Only 2 glasses of coke and 3 small glasses of wine. A few things that did let it down was that you had to ask for a break between courses on the banquet or it would all come out very quick and when you have you have 4 courses you need a break to enjoy it. Also service wasn’t the best. You felt you was being watched When asking for the bill it was made very obvious that a service charge ie tip had not been included but the way it was said made it very clear that one was expected. I felt obliged so had to get a ten pound note changed so that I could leave a tip. It’s such a shame as I say the food was excellent.

Arrived at the Restaurant and was seated within 3 minutes, asked if we wanted drinks, and was served with the drinks a couple of minutes later, after ordering our Banquet for 4 people we were served with the starters approx 5 mins later and then served the other various courses throughout not having to wait long, the food and service was absolutely fantastic and we have all said we will be definitely be booking again highly recommend this Restaurant. 10 out of 10.
