About Sorella Restaurant

Sorella Restaurant is a family run Italian at Uppermill, in the heart of Saddleworth. It’s a sister restaurant to Mazzo and Vicino in Royton and the venue has undergone a major refurbishment to bring a real Mediterranean feel to this South Pennine community. As well as the main restaurant, there’s a new Conservatory which is ideal for special events and parties and can seat up to 40 people. And is summer, when weather permits, the Conservatory opens up to the elements for al fresco dining. The Italian menu here is complemented by a great choice of Italian beers, wines and cocktails and Sorella opens Wednesday to Sunday.

This was our first time visiting Sorella and we will definitely be back soon! We booked for 5 adults and a high chair, the staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was excellent (my 9 month old granddaughter was in awe of the kind actions of the staff and loved the acoustic singer they had booked). Highly recommended

We booked a table for 2 hoping for a lovely mid-week meal. To say the waiting staff were dis-interested is an understatement. They showed a complete lack of customer service. We were robotically shown to our table, which we then asked to be moved away from a big party, we were offered drinks by a member of staff who never made eye contact once. The pizza was average - the sauce tasted like unseasoned passata , piled high with unseasoned vegetables. To be honest, you can accept below par food around Uppermill if the service and atmosphere is good, but this experience was cold in both temperature and welcome. We're not expecting the red carpet but a warm welcome and a smile go a long way.

Booked for Saturday lunch as the menu seemed more interesting than your stadard Italian restaurant and we were all so impressed with the food and service. We struggled to decide on what to order as everything sounded amazing, finally settled on scallops, steak tartare and ribs for starter followed by fillet steak and lamb rigatoni and everything was delicious. Service was attentive and prompt and the restaurant itself is cozy, contemporary and beautifully decorated. Definitely highly recommend Sorella.
