Spoon World Buffet and Bar first opened in Chatham in 2012 and now has branches in Ipswich, Basildon and Portsmouth. Each follows the same successful formula of providing diners with a huge choice of dishes and cuisines from around the world at one fixed price. You will not go hungry at Spoon! There’s a choice of Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Italian, Carvery and Kebab as well as a selection of Desserts. And live cooking stations include Teppanyaki, Pizza, Pancakes and Roasts. Spoon is fully licensed and is open from 5pm weekdays and 12 noon at weekends.

Noticed on this visit the prices had gone up but the plates had got smaller. Most probably be the size of a saucer next visit. But the food was lovely as normal. Toilets i Noticed were dirty, no toilet roll and either water or wee all over floor and they smelt

Excellent! This was our first visit but definitely won’t be our last. So much choice! Really something for everyone! Good value and the desserts reminded us of being on holiday!

My son’s one request for his 14th birthday was to go to this buffet. He has previously been with his dad and the other half of his family and he wanted me to take him and his best friend. It was far away but as it was all he wanted, I drove and found close as well as reasonably priced parking. We got there and there was a bit of a queue to get in but that moved quickly. My youngest was measured and was quite happy to be above the child threshold. At £22 a head it was reasonable ish enough for me not to be too upset at the additional cost. After being guided to a table, we were not instructed on how to proceed but the kids decided that for us and cracked on with filling their plates with prawns as you do at a buffet. I had brought along my kids besties mum who luckily is one of my best friends for moral support. I’m glad I did because it was a bit overwhelming! The choice on offer was incredible! The food itself was not the tastiest but it did satisfy. At the buffet, the other grown ups behaviour was not great but the kids were impeccably mannered, I was impressed. The atmosphere was of people rushing around to get the most out of it. There were large groups as well as small and there was a lot of people but it did not feel too busy because the place is huge! As I said the food was just ok. Not great and the meat was tough. The selection on offer though outweighed that and the kids were in their element. Special shout out to the dessert zone. The Eton Mess was actually fantastic. The customer service was not really mentionable because it was barely there for us. Plates were cleared and I would be able to ask for help if I needed it so while that sound negative , I don’t mean it to be. I truly admire how they work there. It is essentially a trough and they are the zookeepers. In short I definitely will go again, I will recommend it and it was worth the journey, my son had an excellent birthday meal!

Food was nice and enjoyable. Especially fresh grilled food adds to the value. Good selection. Could have better dessert selection. (Hot custard/hot pudding). Staff could better explain how the buffet works, how to order drinks just more communication then just sitting you at your table. Toilets were clean. Overall would go again. Good for a big family child friendly.

Absolutely fantastic, very tasty food, very good variety, great value. Only let down was plates didn't get cleared during our meal and piled up on the table. But thoroughly enjoyed my first visit and will definitely go back. Try it if you haven't and like helping yourself to various tasty foods.

Tables are really pushed together. Really struggled to get through to get food without knocking into everyone else. Too many guests in there all at once Sat down to eat and had 2 waiters approach us asking what time we arrived and what time we was seated as the 90 minutes timing is from when you walk in. Food selection was plenty drink refills station not as much choice also really wet floor in that area. Pudding area was being obliterated by kids when we got there to get some. Nonproblem with kids getting treats but someone should be there to help them Toilets were disgusting floor was wet and dangerously slippery. Told a waiter who said ok ok and done nothing about it.
