About Spoon World Buffet and Bar

Spoon World Buffet and Bar first opened in Chatham in 2012 and now has branches in Ipswich, Basildon and Portsmouth. Each follows the same successful formula of providing diners with a huge choice of dishes and cuisines from around the world at one fixed price. You will not go hungry at Spoon! There’s a choice of Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Italian, Carvery and Kebab as well as a selection of Desserts. And live cooking stations include Teppanyaki, Pizza, Pancakes and Roasts. Spoon is fully licensed and is open from 5pm weekdays and 12 noon at weekends.

I've been happy for the booking I had at spoon the food been warm and fresh and the atmosphere was nice

I booked for my partners birthday. We found spoons had been updated. A lot of the food was cold or warm, unless cooked as you waited. The shredded duck was awful. The pancakes were bunched together a tasted like paper, I was disappointed as I like shredded duck. My partner was sitting at our table and when I got back he told me that the 'cleaning' was because the toilets had a blockage and had gone over the floor, so a large area was closed off BUT the lad cleaning was coming over to the bin area with the dirty cleaning stuff and pushing it into the food waste bin...... When we left the dirty water had been emptied out the front and stunk. Was very unhappy due to wanting a nice time for his birthday but I now know not to go back again. We also table watched for the ladies next door and the yound girl cleaning tables and she took the plates whilst women were sitting there, came back and started to put 1 drink into the other drink. We stopped her as the handbags are still on their chairs, the ladies came back and they then told my partner that 1 of them could not take alcohol and that if they had not been told they would have drunk them and it could have been fatal. So I would say make sure your food is hot and your drinks stay as they should be.

The tiny chicken wings tasted spoilt, the ice cubes for the drinks had a weird taste and so did the drink. The female manager was rude.

It was my partners birthday. So we came to spoon in Chatham. And I'm so please we did. The food was top class and the staff couldn't do enough for you they were so welcoming a fantastic choice of food .it was great.

Sorry to say it was terrible. On holiday in the area, I'd got a bit lost finding Spoons and was 15 minutes late (7.45). We were told food was stopping at 8.30 so I was unsure if I should proceed, the person greeting me said it was my fault for being late. So myself and my friend paid in full. We were rushed. The kitchen staff stood staring at the customers eating. The chicken was incredibly dry, cold, overdone. All of the dishes were luke warm and not fresh at all. Many dishes were not available, I didn't have time to order any food to be cooked fresh, I had to take grab a sweet early to avoid missing it. 3 times I was asked if they could take my plate before I'd finished. It was a waste of money, poor quality foods and pretty hostile environment where I felt watched and unwelcome.

We had a lovely lunchtime here, we all found something we liked as we have many different tastes between us including a vegetarian. All food was cooked well and tasty. Staff friendly, did not feel pressured or rushed.

The staff were super kind , supportive and professional. The Manager was considerate and went the extra mile to ensure we were satisfied. The lady in charge of payment was very friendly and kind.
