About Spoon World Buffet and Bar

Spoon World Buffet and Bar first opened in Chatham in 2012 and now has branches in Ipswich, Basildon and Portsmouth, housed within the Cascades Shopping Centre. Each follows the same successful formula of providing diners with a huge choice of dishes and cuisines from around the world at one fixed price. You will not go hungry at Spoon! There’s a choice of Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Italian, Carvery and Kebab as well as a selection of Desserts. And live cooking stations include Teppanyaki, Pizza, Pancakes and Roasts. Spoon is fully licensed and is open from 5pm weekdays and 12 noon at weekends.

After many years of decline we took our son for his 6th birthday and it was our worst ever experience here. The food was shocking very bland, the service was even worse, unfortunately this will be our last visit to Spoons as the value for money and experience now is so much worse than many other places.

Food was very greasy and some foods were over cooked and soggy. Children under 12 should be child’s price my son is 10 and charged adults price because he 2cms too tall . Would not recommend

I was really disappointed with my experience at Spoons. The selection of food was very limited, and most of what was available was cold by the time we got it. The service was practically non-existent—we struggled to get any assistance throughout our visit. To make matters worse, one member of our group didn't eat anything at all because the food was so unappealing, yet the restaurant still refused to offer a refund or any form of compensation. Overall, it was a very poor experience, and I wouldn't recommend dining here based on the quality of the food, the lack of service, and the way our complaint was handled.

Awful organisation even before we entered the restaurant. Huge group of about 30 10 year olds. All running around, shouting and screaming. Touching food and taking piles and piles. Although not necessarily the restaurants fault I feel they should have rule in place for this and ensure there is a decent adult to child ratio. Always a great selection which is why we tend to go there. I had one bit of beef in black bean and crunched something hard, had to spit it out. It put me off eating anything else! Won’t be rushing back especially as it was nearly £90 for 4 of us and we definitely didn’t eat £90 worth of food!
