brilliant place. excellent food (two 4 one deals on Mondays & Thursdays, other specials nights). v friendly staff. drinks prices are a bit more than your local pub but it's worth it for the night out.

I agree with the other reviewer. A year ago this place wasn't much to write home about but these days I'd consider moving to Lightcliffe just to make it my local!
The staff are friendly and the food is really solid home cooking at its best.
I especially like the carvery (which I don't normally go for in other places) as it is all fresh and good quality.

If you haven't been to the Sun for a while, try it again. The pub went through a rocky patch for a year or two but is now back with the best. The atmosphere's great - it's a really stylish place yet still has that local pub feel to it. The carvery is fantastic, but there are other excellent choices on the menu - the steak pie for one. Service is friendly and efficient. You'll need to book, but it's worth thinking ahead.
