Had a meal at the Sylvan Oak on 26 Feb 2011, the food is excellent and the service is faultless. Worth a visit and see how real food tastes (the Fillet Steak is superb)
Not the cheapest restaurant around but worth every penny.
Thanks for a lovely night.

Absolutely fabulous, Sinan and the team are friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and the food is delicious. It is a lovely night out and I try to go every month.

We've always loved The Sylvan Oak and have been there many, many times.
We love meeting the family and the regular waiter who attends to our every need and is friendly without being over the top.
However, about 6 weeks ago we went there and although the food was excellent as usual the waitress that we had was dreadful.
She clip clopped up and down in her high heels driving everyone crazy in what should be a relaxed and quiet atmosphere.
She dropped things, spilt things and all in all was useless.
We went again last night hoping that she wouldn't be there.
BUT, she was and she just didn't have a clue; it was an absolute shambles.
Also, for some reason, the food was terrible as well.
We were deeply disappointed and have decided that we will not return to this once loved restaurant....SUCH A SHAME!

I have visited the Sylvan Oak on several occasions, normally in large groups of 8 or 10 people but once with my mother for her birthday. On each and every occasion we have all thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The food is always absolutely superb and the choice is amazing. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Not too expensive to be inhibitive but expensive enough to be special. Best to book early!

My husband and I ate there yesterday lunchtime and thoroughly enjoyed it all, we both had three courses finishing with the nougat. We'd driven through Findon a few times, seen the restaurant but never ventured in - we are glad we did. We moved down to West Sussex three years ago from South London and it's always pleasing to find a 'gem'. We will be going back soon - hopefully in August for my birthday.

I am a Chef and I find it very difficult to find anywhere to eat, the food in Sylvan Oak is out of this world, the chef knows his stuff, it is Michelin star quality at a fraction of the price, in 35 years of being in the Catering trade I've found no better restaurant. The service is friendly, as these people care about their customers. It's family run and they make you feel part of the family. I can highly recommend it, it is the best restaurant I've found in England to eat.

We took some American friends here, a bit risky at the time as it was also our first time but we need not have worried. As mentioned the food was to die for and the choice of starters was very extensive. I don't normally eat dessert but it was just too tempting on this occasion and the home made frozen nougat was out of this world. The service we received was superb, personable but not intrusive. Not an every day restaurant but certainly for special occasions when it needs to be perfect.

We have recently moved into Findon Village and went to Sylvan oak for the first time tonight. We are delighted to announce that it was an amazing experience. The food was to die for, the atmosphere and friendly staff added to a wonderful evening. I would highly recommend a visit to this remarkable establishment.

Some friends had their wedding reception as a sit down meal at the Sylvan Oak and the food and service were exquisite. I have been back on two occasions since and there has been no drop in standards. I have eaten in some of the top London restaurants and the Sylvan Oak could compete with the best of them.
