About The Admiral Nelson

The Admiral Nelson at Braunston is the quintessential canalside pub with the building pre-dating the opening of the Grand Union Canal in 1730. The pub sits right next to Lock No. 3 and is a great spot to enjoy excellent food and drink in the most picturesque of settings. The menus offers a wide choice of classic pub fayre - alongside some more exotic options - and food is served at lunch and dinner weekdays and right through the day from 12 noon at weekends. The Admiral Nelson welcome families and it’s a dog-friendly venue with pooches welcome in the bar or dining area. Quiz Night is every Thursday, starting at 9pm.

Went as a family with 2 toddlers for a birthday meal. Booking the table was easy and seamless, welcomed at the door and shown to our table. The waiting staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was out promptly, freshly cooked and delicious! Absolutely no complaints! We will definitely be returning.

Great food, large portions, a large selection of beers with fantastic service , The pub is in a lovely location next the the Grand Union canal, with outdoor seating for those hot summer days. Definitely worth a visit. The only draw back can be the parking when busy.

We had a wonderful birthday meal there yesterday. There were 8 of us including children and the staff looked after us really well. The food was lovely and we were served promptly. Everything went well and we all enjoyed ourselves. The pub is the most welcoming and accommodating pub that we have been to in a very long time and there is a great atmosphere there. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Went to the Admiral Nelson yesterday for a Sunday lunch. We were a table of 6. Everyone really enjoyed their food. Great value for money, service and a lovely location. We’ll be back.

Another enjoyable lunch with our friends. As soon as we walked in - the front of house staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was a busy Thursday but that didn’t detract from the attentiveness of the staff. The black blue Caesar salad was fab and the puddings were delicious
