About The Bakers Arms

The Bakers Arms in Stock, south of Chelmsford, is a quintessential village pub that’s steeped in history. The family run freehouse serves a variety of British and Mediterranean dishes in a relaxed atmosphere and in summer it’s a great spot for al fresco dining or drinking with three areas to choose from - a large beer garden covered by a stretch tent, a patio area and a private garden. The restaurant and private garden are available for functions and parties too and the Bakers Arms also runs regular events and live music nights.

The staff are simply amazing at the Bakers Arms with food to match. Always challenging to make your selection from a mouth watering menu. Its so nice to be greeted and served by people who really do care about tour dining experience -5 stars

Met friends there, pre a visit to a doa hotel opposite. Food lovely, priced reasonably. Service was good. Staff friendly. Will go there again. So recommend.

We came here for my birthday lunch with our 2 Yr old granddaughter and everything was perfect. My husband booked it based on other reviews and it did not dissapoint. I had roast lamb and my GD had the childs roast chicken which was enormous. All roasts were delicious. My husband had the seafood platter which was also cooked to perfection the wine was good and so were the desserts . The staff were brilliant and catered to all of our needs. Reasonably priced as well . We will definitely come here again and would recommend it.

Here catching up with friends. Atmosphere was very good. Waitresses very attentative. Food was superb. Two of us had the liver & bacon - it was very tasty. Another had the chicken & chorizo pasta and another had the salmon. It seemed no matter what we ordered it was very tasty.

Myself and my husband came along with two friends for lunch this week . Restaurant was light , bright and warm, as were the staff. The portions were plentiful and very tasty , even an omelette was praised for taste and texture. Eton mess desert was made with real fruit sauce and was delicious. All in all a lovely , reasonably priced meal . Thank you

Staff welcoming, good menu choice with fair prices. I enjoyed an amazing omelette & my friends chose a jacket potato which they said was very tasty. The pub/restaurant was cleaner & tables were cleaned once vacated Would definitely recommend
