About The Bank Bar & Kitchen

Nestled in the heart of Darwen and built in 1897 - the same year as the much-loved Darwen Jubilee Tower – this historic stone building has been converted into The Bank Bar & Kitchen. There’s brunch, tapas and a la carte dining daily from 10am until late using fresh local and seasonal ingredients with a mix of unique specials, traditional classics and modern cuisine. Dry-aged beef is a speciality along with indulgent comfort food. A range of gluten-free meals are available and vegans, vegetarians, people with allergies and children are also well catered for. The sleek and modern artisanal bar also serves a selection of classic upmarket cocktails and a wide range of contemporary spirits. Al fresco dining here too when weather permits.

My wife and I had lunch mid-week at The Bank for my Birthday. It was our second visit and, as before, the food was absolutely amazing. The service is brilliant, everything is spotless, all staff are very friendly - nothing feels too much trouble, and there is a lovely welcoming atmosphere. This is rapidly becoming our go-to place.

Initially non existent service from our waitress. Had to chase her for our drinks and starters. Got the starters but no cutlery. Went and got our own.. then Olly took over and sorted our mains and drinks and saved our evening. Well done Olly. Please let that waitress know the excuse for the delay with our starters of ‘the scallops are taking longer to cook than normal’ is laughable. Tell her to educate herself on how long a scallop takes.. 3-5 minutes... not 55 minutes from ordering. The score for service is purely for Olly.

Theee of us had brunch (and cocktails) on a Friday morning/afternoon. Absolutely fantastic food and service. Great value for money. This was our first visit, but we will definitely be back. Looking forward to trying the afternoon menu, it looks amazing.
