About The Barn Garden Centre Cafe

The Barn Garden Centre Café at Stanway, west of Colchester, is open every day for breakfast and lunch serving a café/bistro-style menu. It’s a light and airy space and there’s also al fresco dining on the terrace, which is partially covered. The menus are regularly updated and sit alongside daily seasonal specials. Traditional breakfasts and luxuries including Smoked Salmon and Eggs Benedict. On-trend lunches and lighter bites include Buddha Bowls, House Salads and favourites such as Fish & Chips. All food is locally sourced and cooked fresh to order. Bakery lines and cakes are made in-house daily and desserts vary from homemade Lemon Meringue Pie to warm Bakewell Tart. The Barn Garden Centre Café is fully licensed too and offers a range of beers, wines and spirits.

We had an outstanding Father’s Day meal. The carrots, potatoes, gravy, and cauliflower cheese were all exceptional. The roast beef and roast chicken were absolutely divine. Overall, it was the best meal we’ve had there to date. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavour. It was excellent value for money and well worth it

We really like the atmosphere, relaxed and enjoyable, with music usually playing in the background. The staff treat us very well, they are efficient yet friendly and helpful. We have found the food to be very good. We go to this cafe fairly regularly.

Went for breakfast, staff were not very welcoming. No smiles or chit chat. The whole place lacked any atmosphere. The breakfast dishes had risen in price and got smaller in portion sizes, so now quite expensive for what you get. I will not be rushing back.

Eaten a couple of times here, food and service has always been top notch - cakes are lush! Lovely place and they seem to have a great balance of garden space, homeware/general items and eating. Lovely place and love visiting.
