About The Bay Horse at Ravensworth

The Bay Horse at Ravensworth is a traditional country pub with a reputation for excellent food, well-kept ales and warm hospitality. Family run, it’s recently been refurbished and is just a short drive north west of Richmond in the North Yorkshire countryside. There’s a front bar for casual drinkers, a snug, a restaurant area and an outdoor garden. Dogs are welcome too, except in the main restaurant. Produce is locally sourced where possible and you can choose from the main menu and a selection of weekly specials. Food is served Wednesday to Saturdays evenings and at Sunday lunch.

We had the most delicious Sunday lunch I can highly recommend the roast beef cooked perfectly with a generous selection of vegetables. Monkfish also a delicious dish. A very warm welcome with excellent friendly staff. The best bread and butter pudding we’ve ever had too! 10/10 We will be back soon!

A good range of excellent quality dishes to choose from. The portions are proper Yorkshire (who said they were "careful"?) I had the whisky bread and butter pudding for dessert, which was the best I have ever had. It was much lighter than you would imagine and went down a treat, even after a decent main course. Others in our party had the trifle and said that it was the best they had had. The staff were lovely and very obliging. We were a party of 10 and all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's not cheap, but quality never is. Recommended.

We went for dinner last night with friends, the meal for us all was absolutely delicious, the girls had halibut with muscles, the men went for the swordfish with chips. We shared a trifle the men went for bread and butter pudding. Absolutely amazing. A lovely pub with great food and friendly staff. Can’t wait to return and sample more off the fish menu. Which by the way I could haven’t all of the dishes.

First visit. Booked for extended family of 13 to celebrate our son’s 40th birthday. We had chosen our meals prior. On arrival we were greater with a warm welcome and seated for what was a particularly tasty and enjoyable meal which far exceeded our expectation. We all enjoyed our experience being made particularly welcome We will definitely be back for a Sunday lunch

This is our gem of a local public house. Everything about the place, The Team, The Atmosphere and of course The Food is fantastic. We recently visited to celebrate a special occasion with friends, it was perfect and our friends said that they can’t wait to return.
