About The Bear Inn

Dating back to 1766, the Grade II-listed Bear Inn is a delightful Cotswolds country pub in the picturesque village of Bisley, near Stroud. The original stone building is complemented by the cosy interior with low ceilings, exposed wooden beams and open fires. There’s a quaint main bar, a restaurant area, a pretty beer garden and a car park over the road. Food is served from 12 noon seven days a week. The Bear Inn also has two letting rooms if you fancy making the most of this beautiful part of the world with an overnight stay.

Very nice Sunday roast in an interesting historic pub. Generous portion sizes: a large plate full! The veg were nice and plentiful: sprouts, carrots, roast potatoes and parsnips and a ramekin of yummy cauliflower cheese. All accompanied by a jug of gravy each. Helpful staff. The only criticism is that we found the pub a little chilly in temperature – perhaps as it was a day when the weather started to get colder. Would definitely have Sunday lunch there again.

Had an amazing meal here. Dog friendly pub lovely to see locals at the Bar and Dining. We both chose the Rib Steak + trimmings under £17.00 Amazing plateful Couldn’t manage a Dessert ( and my Husbands over 6’ ! ) Will definitely be returning as we visits friends near Bisley
