So this public house is under new management and is undergoing a programme of long needed refurbishment. At the time of writing it was due to close for that to be done so choice of food was limitted meaning no cod and chips however some chap i think he was the manager remembered they had had a delivery of some fresh hake and offered to batter some up for us. Well personally i think they should stick to hake it was fabulous thick large and the batter was fabulous. So the food was great and good value my only gripe is the price of ale now under the new owners i am not a regular but visit maybe 6 times a year and the prices have risen considerably since the summer. I understand but for me i now drink less so they make less oh well healthier i suppose

Very good Sunday roast and homemade dessert. Good value and choice of standard or small size which suited my older mother. Pub is a lovely old building in a nice village (great village shop opposite!) and looks like it’s being renovated and updated.
