About The Blue Anchor

The Blue Anchor in the village of Feering, near Colchester, is an old coaching inn that dates back to the 16th century. In 2013, it was given a new lease of life with an extensive refurbishment that created a more open and inviting space with stylish and contemporary finishes. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday with a choice of a la carte and classic menus as well as for weekend breakfast and Sunday lunch. And the kitchen team has been awarded an AA rosette for the quality of the food. The Blue Anchor also runs regular events including themed dinners and tastings and for private parties, functions and weddings, the Garden Room and Olive Garden can cater for up to 80 people. You can also stay over here in one of the ensuite rooms and enjoy the tranquil village feel whilst being close to Colchester, Chelmsford and even London.

We hosted a lunch party to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary at the Blue Anchor. Everything about it was perfect, food, service and atmosphere. We felt the meal was very good value for money. Additionally the events manager helped us to arrange even the tiniest detail of the day, for example liaising with our cake supplier.

Our group was meeting up from 3 different counties and had an excellent lunch experience. It was a well balanced menus with a wide variety of meat, fish and vegetarian options. We were welcomed by polite, friendly and efficient staff.

We had a meal here on Mother's Day and the food was really good. We have a vegetarian in our group and there was plenty of choice for him. I expected the tables to be closer together but was really surprised when the tables were really nicely spaced out.

We had a lovely breakfast on the Saturday before Mothers Day. The food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble for the waitress as we required lots of different breakfasts! Atrmosphere is lovely and I would recommend to anyone! Will definitely be back and two of my guests were from Leicestetr so hopefully will book to stay next time.
