The Bulls Head has been part of the fabric of the village of Heyside for generations and now two local boys made good have taken over the pub and embarked on a major refurbishment, transforming the building into a comfortable, light and airy space with a dedicated restaurant area and a well-stocked lounge and bar. James is a third-generation butcher and along with wife Heather started making and selling sausages as Bobbys Bangers on farmers markets. With business partner Richard they started their first street food event, Bangers and Bacon, then entered and won Manchester’s year-long Kitchens Project in Manchester, going on to open Beastro in Spinningfields. Drawing on this experience they have returned to Heyside to open The Bulls Head, taking the best of what the seasons have to offer from independent local suppliers to create honest flavoursome food.
