About The Carriers Inn

Overlooking Hatchmere Lake – and with an award-winning beer garden to make the most of it – The Carriers Inn is a hidden gem in Cheshire’s Delamere Forest. It has a history stretching back at least 300 years to when it was a welcome break for waggoners headed to Frodsham Port. Then as now, it’s the perfect setting to enjoy a relaxing drink or a tasty meal. The pub has a large conservatory to make the most of the lakeside views as well as the large beer garden by the water (no bookings are taken for outside dining; it’s first-come, first-served outside). The menu includes a large range to suit all tastes including Pub classics, great grills, and a range of burgers, snacks and decadent desserts. Go Ape in Delamere Forest is just two minutes’ away by car and Liverpool, Chester and Runcorn are all less than a half-hour drive. Dogs are welcome too in all parts of the pub.

Ate at the Carriers Inn yesterday evening (24th November )., and again today at lunchtime. The food was both plentiful and very tasty, and a nice hand pulled beer to accompany it. Spoke to one of the managers after our meal and they assured us that the meals were prepared and cooked in house. The dining area was lovely and clean and reasonably busy considering the time of year. We took advantage of the 50% off deal which made it great value. Staff were very attentive and polite. Going back tomorrow.

Booked for a Sunday roast for 4 people around 4 pm which isn’t a bad time Walked into a miserable lady just on her phone who just looked at us then it was like she couldn’t find the booking Then decided to put us in the corner out the way A young girl came up took our drink orders then came running back and said was you told about the food we was like no she said we only Have a bit of lamb left and 1 pie So we got up and left went the Chinese across the road which was lovely Won’t be returning anytime soon

Staff and food was great - used the 50% offer on food and drink otherwise food is expensive. Ordered the chicken dog dinner but had to send it back as there was only about 10 small cubes of meat and for the cost wasn’t what we expected. Good choice of beers

Service good. Food fine but did not appear to be home cooked food...more like type of food id expect at a chain. Was really disappointed by menu. Unimaginative mrnu, really poor choice for vegetarians. I have put 5 for vslue due to 50% off but dont thibk worth full price

Great early evening visit to the Carriers for a lovely 3 course meal. 4 of us had a wide range of items off the menu and every one was really nice . With a great choice of lagers this is a great place! Service very good for such a place - quick and very polite.

We had lunch at the Carriers this week and found the staff very pleasant and welcoming. The menu was a little disappointing as it was different from the website and excluded things like sausage and mash and gammon. However the food we ordered was good and they were helpful making a dish that suited my intolerances. The puddings were excellent and we were pleased to have the current offer of 50% off the total bill. If there had not been a discount we think the food is a little expensive. However we do look forward to a return visit.
