About The Cider Barn

Set on the edge of the black-and-white village of Pembridge, The Cider Barn combines rustic charm with contemporary polish — think vaulted beams, natural textures and a relaxed but grown-up dining room. The kitchen leans into Herefordshire produce with confident, modern British dishes that shift with the seasons, backed by a thoughtful wine list and a welcoming, unfussy style of service. Beyond day-to-day dining, it has built a strong reputation as a venue for private events, with flexible spaces that lend themselves naturally to celebrations, functions and weddings — all delivered with the same attention to detail as the restaurant. Whether it’s a long lunch, an evening meal or a larger gathering, this is destination dining with a strong sense of place — quietly refined, but never precious.

Excellent food, the atmosphere was very warm and cosy. The staff are attentive but not always around you. I would highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Wonderful third meal at the Barn. The service is always excellent- one of our party has an orange allergy and the serving staff ensuresd that they had their own vegetables. The food was excellent with a huge variety of beautiful vegetables. We left room for the sticky toffee pudding, and were glad we did! A lovely Sunday lunch experience that represents excellent value for money in a stunning location. We will be back again!

A fabulous evening celebrating a birthday! Gorgeous setting, we were fortunate enough to sit outside in the evening sunshine, overlooking Herefordshire countryside. With super friendly staff all of whom greeted us with a smile. The food was absolutely delicious, with such vibrant colours and flavours in every dish. Attention to detail and thoughtfulness were evident. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a really special evening. 5 stars!

Really enjoyed our meal, it is a fantastic experience! The meals and flavours are out of this world! The combinations are something we have never tried before! The staff are so helpful and friendly, the location is fantastic and the restaurant is beautiful with peaceful surroundings. This is our favourite restaurant and I would highly recommend. We have never been disappointed and always enjoy the food and experience. It is the best restaurant I have ever been too.

Food was beautifully presented. Portions were adequate for our table, as we were all over sixty, though had I been younger I would have felt short changed, I remember visiting a restaurant in the 1980 s after a days farming during the nouvelle cuisine fad and having to stop by the local chip shop on the way home, such things live long in the memory. Relatively cheap items like bread rolls with starters can help with this, though I guess they carry the risk that you may sell fewer desserts. My First course, the dried meat was fine, though I was a little taken aback by the somewhat confusing array of flavours which to my old fashioned pallet seemed to lack harmony, this discomfort was even greater with my main course, the sausage meat en croute so loud was the collision between the star anise the fruit jam that the flavour of the sausage meat was lost completely, the pastry could have been filled with porridge for all the impact it had on the dish. Loved the doughnuts.

Always a pleasure to visit and explore the clever use of different ingredients, flavours and textures from a well balanced menu. Only once have we experienced a poor balance of flavours, - a rather over rich and sweet sauce which hid other flavours. Some good wine choices at reasonable prices. Restaurant staff knowledgeable, charming and efficient. Ambience good.

Disappointed with the food compared to previous visits - very limited menu and small portions. Also no separate gluten free menu as on previous visits!
