About The Deacon

The Deacon opened in December 2017 in a prime spot right in the centre of town. It's a modern British tavern on the site of a former bank building in Lytham square and a painstaking restoration has created a truly unique venue combining many of the original features of the William Deacon bank with a bright and contemporary look and a beautiful conservatory overlooking Lytham square. The  menu offers diners plenty of choice ranging from small plates, sandwiches and salads to steaks from the grill and a dozen main course options. Drinks include craft beers, their own-brand draught beer, wines and a choice of 50 gins. There's also a garden area where you can eat and drink al fresco which even has its own dog menu!

Fantastic afternoon at the Deacon for our Xmas lunch. Great food and wine and we were well looked after. Drinks beforehand in the bar on their ale. Recommended

I had only been in for a drink before at night. This time we ate in the daytime for a long lunch. I must say we were all very impressed. The design of the place is fantastic, what you would expect in a cosmopolitan city not a Lancashire coastal town. We sat in the conservatory area which is great to watch the world go by. I had the cheese and ale soup followed by the beef cheek suet pudding, both excellent. My friend had the Deacon platter for her main meal which was also top notch. Presentation of all dishes matched the style of the venue. The place I would now recommend in Lytham

Tried this place on Tuesday night which was amazing but then let down on Wednesday when I took my parents for lunch. Firstly tried to contact the restaurant to book a table but they don’t accept bookings over lunch and also no waitress service at lunch time and no tabs. Really disappointing as I usually like to be looked after and waited on when going out and paying for it. Having to keep getting up and going to the bar during my meal really ruined it for me. But will be back for dinner.

Really nice bar, great menu and it's not an Italian! Love the interior design, the service was good too just what Lytham needs. Spago will suffer, it's cooler and much better value for money. I will definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing!!!! This restaurant is my new favourite place. The building is absolutely stunning, the food was really nice. The brisket Bon Bon’s are a must try!!!! And my partner said his pint was the best he’s ever had. We will deffo be regulars in there.

The Deacon looks amazing! real style, love the green wall colour and copper beer pipes that straddle the ceiling. Their conservatory area is a real winner too. My only issue is the lack of real ale only keg. For a real proper bar that's mistake and will stop it being a real regular for me and many friends. Would highly recommend this place especially if you not bothered about Real Ale.
