About The Elephant Crossing

The Elephant Crossing is a brand new Mexican bar and restaurant in the heart of Ironbridge serving delicious tapas-style dishes and cocktails. The name comes from a famous local event in 1932 when an elephant marched across the Ironbridge to promote Chapman’s Zoo-Circus. Expect an outstanding selection of drinks including show-stopping cocktails and a tasty selection of tequilas with Mexican street-style food prepared by Chef Martin Lewry who has returned to the UK after five years as Head Chef at the Harbour Club in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote.

Food was so nice and the actual building is so cute and cosy inside - cocktails are a bit pricey but they are everywhere in Ironbridge.

We came for a birthday celebration on Tuesday evening. We loved the great selection of cocktails and the food was amazing the service was great, we didn’t have to wait too long for our food and drinks. We will definitely be coming back to try out the bottomless brunch!

I have visited previously and always enjoyed - on this occasion, the service was a bit slower, but accepted this due it being a Saturday night. The food was very slow to come out (from first dish to last dish we waited approximately half an hour for all of the food to come out to us) but management discounted the bill when asked, which was greatly received. The food was good (albeit some of it was cold) but still very tasty. Overall a good experience.

Second time of coming here and it won’t be the last. Had an amazing time both times, food, drink and service, all outstanding. Staff are friendly & professional and will make sure you have a great time. Strongly recommend the Mexican feast board if you’re hungry and want to try a bit of everything. We come here quite often and decided to book a bottomless brunch for a friend’s birthday. We had the best time! The drinks were great, plentiful and not watered down (!) the food was lovely and the staff were really wonderful. Professional, helpful but so friendly. I cannot recommend it enough. The staff were Eve and Chloe and they literally made our whole visit special.
