About The Elephant Crossing

The Elephant Crossing is a brand new Mexican bar and restaurant in the heart of Ironbridge serving delicious tapas-style dishes and cocktails. The name comes from a famous local event in 1932 when an elephant marched across the Ironbridge to promote Chapman’s Zoo-Circus. Expect an outstanding selection of drinks including show-stopping cocktails and a tasty selection of tequilas with Mexican street-style food prepared by Chef Martin Lewry who has returned to the UK after five years as Head Chef at the Harbour Club in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote.

Went as a group and I think everyone really enjoyed their meal, menu a little limited however something for everyone - and the food was really tasty. Service was good. Would echo another review that says if upstairs a little hard to get staff but not too much of an issue. Would revisit for sure

Fantastic Mexican spot for intimate dining nestled in the beautiful Ironbridge gorge. Food was absolutely fantastic, with plenty of veggie options and all small plates big enough for 2 to share. Staff were very friendly/accommodating however very busy, but cannot fault them for running up and down those stairs with food. Did see people come in, sit down at a table, no one was upstairs so they eventually left not sure if they were okay to seat themselves. The berry cola cocktail was fab. Sangria was a bit of a let down and the ladies loo was quite claustrophobic but they would be my only improvements. 10/10 would go again and would look to visit the sister site in Shrewsbury!

Lovely atmosphere but unfortunately slow service. Over an hour for food sadly. We were seated upstairs and told "you'll have to sit up here, we're too busy downstairs" which was unusual when we'd pre-booked. Upstairs is lovely but it's very difficult to get the staffs attention when they're downstairs for long periods of time.
