Set in three acres of wooded grounds leading down to the banks of Seacourt Stream, The Fishes is one of the few places in Oxford with both al fresco dining and great views. Recommended in the Michelin Guide, it's part of Peach Pubs, an award-winning independent group of gastropubs. The Victorian building is just a couple of minutes from both the southbound A34 and the Botley Road and is open from lunch till late every day and for brunch too at weekends. Menus feature top-quality produce such as free-range chicken and 28-day-dry-aged Aberdeenshire rump cap steak with dishes ranging from traditional pub classics to more adventurous fare. In summer, picnic boxes are available from the bar and the gardens are filled with picknickers making the most of the beautiful setting.
