About The Gallery

The Gallery in Urmston opened in 2021 and is a wonderfully quirky and colourful café and art gallery with its own artist-in-residence. The building itself dates back to 1807 with tables spread across various rooms including a covered ginnel which was once the old horse-and-cart entrance. There’s also outside dining space in the garden and the family live right above. It’s very much a family affair with mother, father and daughter all involved with the business which is open daytime Wednesday to Saturday from 10am serving coffees, hot and cold snacks, soups, salads and afternoon teas. They also open Friday evenings with grazing boards and table service (and on the first Friday of the month it's small plates tapas night). The Gallery is fully licensed too and is available for private hire for parties and special events.

Best afternoon tea we've had for a long time! The owners are lovely and couldn't have done more to accommodate us. Great food, friendly, quirky little place. Everyone in the group agreed. Excellent value for money. Website could do with updating.

What a wonderful place. It is our regular Saturday morning haunt. 3 of us went Friday evening for pie night. It is not the place to go if you are in a rush. Not fast food but beautifully cooked home made food and definitely worth the wait.

A friend and I went to The Gallery for afternoon tea using gift cards received as a present. We were welcomed into a cosy quirky interior full of interesting items and Helens paintings on the walls. We had prosseco., soft roll sandwiches, scones with jam and cream and many types of homemade cakes. We also had a pot of tea. Everything was delicious and plentiful and we took home a box of goodies we couldn’t manage, We could have spent longer in the very pleasant environment but were sadly on a limited schedule.Score——-11 out of 10!!!!

Lovely cosy cafe full of quirky antiques. Have been coming here since they first opened, usually just for coffee. We came for a light lunch in a party of three to celebrate two birthdays. Food good and service excellent. However, disappointed once more that no alcohol-free wine or fizz available - and, due to a very sad bereavement in the family, no alcohol could be served until the licence has been amended. Still, we enjoyed ourselves. NB: The website could do with being updated, once the family have recovered from their awful time.

First visit. Had booked ten days before but they didn’t have reservation. Queued to get told no reservation then got a table then had to get up and queue again for a drink and a slice of cake which didn’t come for 25 mins. Won’t be returning. Not child friendly. Shame

2nd time coming here came with my 2 friends after having a lovely time the 1st time I wanted them to enjoy it as much well what can I say that was ever so slightly disappointed booked a table for 10am arrived on time it’s a lovely place and think the service should reflect this , when seated should have been given menus explained when ready to order go to the till even though I’d been before they don’t know this , when we ordered x3 very simple breakfast beans on toast which took an age to come and we had to send 1 back 3 times as not hot enough and was on a large barm bread I had this the last time and was on lovely bread no barm , I think they need to get better with the service with the staff only young girls working there but with some good training and good social skills with all ages of the public would make it a more enjoyable place to go , would of liked to give a higher score maybe next time
