About The Globe Inn Marsh Rye

The Globe Inn sits on the outskirts of the historic East Sussex town of Rye, where the Military Canal meets the River Rother. Modern yet traditional, this pretty clapperboard pub with a marine theme only opened in 2013 but has built up a loyal local following. Expect warm hospitality, eclectic ‘sheep-shack-chic’ interiors and a kitchen that specialises in using fresh and local produce to create innovative home-cooked food from Field, Farm and Sea. They also stock a wide range of beers from local breweries, ranging from small batch ales to unique craft beers and traditional ciders. The Globe Inn has regular live music events and can also cater for private parties and celebrations in ‘The Hobbyist’, an upstairs private dining space.

Lovely food and service, love the vibe of the pub.

With American visitors we had to suggest burgers at the Globe, and they all agreed they were very good. A decent hunk of beef with delicious chips. The ambience of the Globe is something else; interesting, quirky, different. It’s definitely a comfortable place to be, and the music is just right. Staff are all polite and professional, and made a huge fuss of our dog. Marta in particular is a fantastic host, and makes everyone welcome. Service was slightly let down by a fault with the ordering system resulting in the chefs not seeing the order and a long delay. A shame, as otherwise it’s great. We’ll forgive them. In all honesty it’s a little on the expensive side at times. A pint of Guinness is rather overpriced and I’m not sure about £6 for a handful of chips, delicious as they are. I’d love to see some Shepherds Pie or Sausage and Mash on the menu. For all that the Globe is a smashing pub with a unique atmosphere, a very comfortable place to be. Let’s hope we’re there for many years to come !

We love this restaurant / pub, it's quirky, different but the staff are superb, attentive and the food is always delicious. We come here every year for a catch up before xmas and it's a great place to meet, drink and dine.

Great experience on a cold Friday evening, busy, loud, lively, friendly. Great service, great food, great ambience - 3 sisters came to visit and loved it! Fish pie, Lamb pie both great - wine cold and lovely...

Lovely late lunch on a very busy Procession & Firework afternoon. 9 of us and service was great. Cosy pub with nice atmosphere - quirky & really interesting decor! Food was generally great across the board although pil pil prawns didn't go down as well. Steaks excellent as were Mussels Marinara, Chilli Squid and Whitebait. Burgers and Beef stew were good. Vino verde white lovely. Will definitely be back.

Really good food and service on a busy night (fireworks) Has a good selection of real ales too. Only small gripe was that the vegetables with the pie dish were over salted. Other than that - great!

Always pop in for a drink or food when I’m back in Rye. Everything was so good our waiter was really helpful and seemed to be really enjoying working there which is nice to see.
