About The Globe Inn Marsh Rye

The Globe Inn sits on the outskirts of the historic East Sussex town of Rye, where the Military Canal meets the River Rother. Modern yet traditional, this pretty clapperboard pub with a marine theme only opened in 2013 but has built up a loyal local following. Expect warm hospitality, eclectic ‘sheep-shack-chic’ interiors and a kitchen that specialises in using fresh and local produce to create innovative home-cooked food from Field, Farm and Sea. They also stock a wide range of beers from local breweries, ranging from small batch ales to unique craft beers and traditional ciders. The Globe Inn has regular live music events and can also cater for private parties and celebrations in ‘The Hobbyist’, an upstairs private dining space.

My son & I had a great Sunday lunch, the portions were generous, with good wine choices. The Globe's menu & service do fluctuate, largely very good, at other times disappointing. Hopefully, the present standards will be maintained throughout the year.

We love, love this lovely, quirky pub. It has a great vibe, the staff are super efficient, friendly and professional. The food is locally sourced and delicious. One of our party is vegetarian and had the vegetarian roast and scraped the plate clean! We all did! If I was to be really picky, I would request the staff to place bottles gently into the bin please. They are thrown in and the shrill is ear piercing! But that’s it. Definitely recommend. We travel from Hythe to come here.

Cosy atmosphere and welcoming, but having just 2 cources and 2 drinks we felt that £82 was very overpriced,my burger and chips was nice but was served on a very small plate and was quite a small burger which didn't justify the price tag. Apologies for the winge but prices of small portioned food can not be justified in my opinion, especially if it's just nice and not that memorable.
