About The Globe Inn Marsh Rye

The Globe Inn sits on the outskirts of the historic East Sussex town of Rye, where the Military Canal meets the River Rother. Modern yet traditional, this pretty clapperboard pub with a marine theme only opened in 2013 but has built up a loyal local following. Expect warm hospitality, eclectic ‘sheep-shack-chic’ interiors and a kitchen that specialises in using fresh and local produce to create innovative home-cooked food from Field, Farm and Sea. They also stock a wide range of beers from local breweries, ranging from small batch ales to unique craft beers and traditional ciders. The Globe Inn has regular live music events and can also cater for private parties and celebrations in ‘The Hobbyist’, an upstairs private dining space.

Really enjoyed the food (and beer). The fish platter was excellent and the hazy pale grey much to my taste. The squid was well cooked and flavoursome with zesty dressing. The sea bream was satisfying and portion sizes were well judged.

We had such a lovely meal (again) here. They create such a good atmosphere, the whole menu looks so good and we had great starters, mains, desserts and drinks. The team also handled the peanut allergy in our group deftly and made us feel very at ease.

We have been visiting the Globe since it re-invented itself 14/15 years ago. We are never disappointed. The menu changes seasonally plus they are always fabulous staples on the menu. The staff are always attentive and hard working. We went for our first breakfast there this morning. What a wonderful twist on a traditional favourite. Highly recommended. It it without doubt the best place to eat in Rye.
