About The Globe Inn Marsh Rye

The Globe Inn sits on the outskirts of the historic East Sussex town of Rye, where the Military Canal meets the River Rother. Modern yet traditional, this pretty clapperboard pub with a marine theme only opened in 2013 but has built up a loyal local following. Expect warm hospitality, eclectic ‘sheep-shack-chic’ interiors and a kitchen that specialises in using fresh and local produce to create innovative home-cooked food from Field, Farm and Sea. They also stock a wide range of beers from local breweries, ranging from small batch ales to unique craft beers and traditional ciders. The Globe Inn has regular live music events and can also cater for private parties and celebrations in ‘The Hobbyist’, an upstairs private dining space.

We were treated to a lovely birthday meal for my father at the Globe. As ever, the ambiance, food & service were great & the staff were friendly & attentive. We loved the fish pie, sea bass, local lamb & fruit crumble especially, all fresh & locally sourced. Many thanks again to all the staff!

We had a great evening celebrating my 17 year old granddaughters birthday and they made her feel very special. Food & service was excellent. A little hidden gem in Rye. Highly recommend .

The good: Nice decor, interesting music, dog friendly & interesting choice of beers. The bad Service was very slow despite it not seemingly being all that busy, ordered more drinks and they came as we finished our meals and the burgers and chips were very clearly frozen so poor value for £18. Would recommend for a drink but not for food.

What a delightful pub! Packed with quirky corners and interesting pictures and decorations items it’s a lovely place to stop for lunch and a pint. Our food was delicious and we all enjoyed our choices of fish pie, burger and excellent chips, local roast lamb and mac and cheese. All with charming friendly service.

The Globe is our firm favourite to round out a visit to Rye and the beach at Camber; dogs are welcome, the quirky decor, vibe and outdoor area (in summer) make this a welcoming venue. Good beer, reliable menu. Parking can be tricky so park in town and walk at busy times.

Went on Monday night, relatively quiet, but relaxing. Very good food, had the hummus starter and local lamb, which were both delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return.

Superb meal last night with friends. Even turned the music down so we could hear ourselves talk. As ever always accommodating, great customer service and good food and drink.

Fitted us in as usual at short notice. Food very good, and took beef back as it was too rare for me, which I appreciated. An additional fresh vegetable accompaniment would have been nice. Once again, a lovely experience. A very well run pub with very good food
