Lovely place and lovely meal. Took my 80 year old father out for food. Great meal but only 1 negative. I paid by cash and I had 1 x Scottish £10 within part of the cash. The waitress came running out to the car park to stop me. She was polite and told me they can’t accept Scottish money. I was polite and swapped it for an English £10. Does the management realise that Scotland is still part of the UK ?? Do they know there is also Scottish and Welsh pound coins within the British currency!!!!

We went with high expectations after hearing good reports about the food and were extremely disappointed. We found the food underwhelming and very overpriced, despite choosing items off the "specials" board. One dish looked like it had been sat under heat lamps too long and had formed a skin on top, the other dish lacked a key ingredient that was listed in its description, resembled and tasted not much better than microwave meal. Staff also lacked wine knowledge, offering a medium option when dry was requested and my partner was accosted in the toilets by someone who was under the influence of drugs. To add insult to injury, we were overcharged for one of the mains.

We ate here on a Monday evening, one adult, one teen and one child. Firstly the atmosphere felt welcoming as we entered, secondly the young girl who allocated us to a table and who served us was polite and engaging. Nothing was to much trouble. We enjoyed our meals, we had a lasagne, adult fish and chips and a child’s meal. I didn’t think the child’s meal was good value for money, I think it was £8.99 which did include ice cream but the meal was only tomato pasta, not too costly to make. The apple juices I ordered were served in small school type beakers so several gulps from a thirsty child and they needed replacing. All in all we enjoyed it and we will visit again. It would be nice if the owners acted on the critique and adapted the children’s menu and soft drinks sizes/prices. Staff excellent.

First thing to mention is that the staff were fantastic - very pleasant, smiley, engaging and speedy service. The starters were very nice but both our main courses a bit disappointing both in quality and taste. Our main gripe is that at 8pm on a Saturday evening there really shouldn't be babies and small children running about and generally being grouchy (probably should be in bed) and loud. Maybe up to 6.30/7.00 pm as a cut off time to allow those who want a more restful peaceful dining experience to avoid the creche?
