The Higher Buck, previously known as The Buck in the Vine in the 19th century, is situated in one of the most idyllic villages in rural Lancashire, nuzzled underneath Waddington Fell in the Forest of Bowland. The inn champions locally sourced ingredients and seasonal menus with dishes ranging from game pies and Asian-inspired curries through to classic pub favourites, all served with flair and attention to detail. Inside, you’ll find warm, textured décor with stripped wood, tweed upholstery and unusual touches like colander lampshades around a central bar. There’s also front and rear outside seating plus stylish en-suite accommodation if you fancy exploring this beautiful and untouched part of the world.
