The Lemon Tree on Poulton’s Breck Road is a modern Indian restaurant with a contemporary feel and a wide selection of dishes from right across the Indian subcontinent. It’s open seven days a week from 5.30 to 11.30pm (12.30am at weekends) and also has a takeaway menu priced at 20% off the main menu. There’s an extensive choice ranging from Korahai, Balti and Tandoori dishes through curry house classics like Rogan Josh, Jalfrezi and Biryani. But it’s the Chef’s Recommendations that take you on a tour across the subcontinent and beyond – from Sri Lankan Raj in the south to Mazadar Mas or Mono Hari from Bangladesh in the north east, Karahi Lamb Punjabi and Jaipuri from the north west as well as Malaysian, Persian and Thai specialities. The menu is helpfully annotated with chillis to show the heat levels of each dish and there are set and party menu options available too.
