The food is perfectly good pub grub. It maybe doesn't live up to its claim of an eclectic mix of world street food and British gastronomy, but we have no complaint about the food. The service was what let it down. Four members of staff ignored us as we waited to be seated and once we had ordered drinks we were left alone for twenty minutes. Service was fine, when it happened, but a little disinterested.

Food was good when it eventually came. Last night was alot of pressure on staff due to poor planning and under estimating the influx of customers. Staff were under so much pressure that the bar man bringing our drinks spilt them on the tray, I proceeded to try and help and he was very abrupt with me in front of my family and other restaurant goers. Your staff need more support and training for shifts of pressure thankyou.

We went for Sunday Lunch and the meals were very good. The beef dinner was really enjoyed especially by my wife,s visiting brother from Australia. The young man serving us was polite, helpful with a sense of humor. We have been to the Malthouse on afew occasions and have never been disappointed.

Let's start on a positive, the food was lovely. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell. Its like stale musty filthy damp carpets and it never went away. We were one of the first tables in for Sunday lunch and there were six of us. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks. The serving staff were all very young and inexperienced which isn't their fault, they need training. I asked what kind of fish was in the fish and chips and the waitress said she didn't know so I asked her to find out. It was haddock which I can't eat so I'm glad I asked. The food arrived and it looked and tasted lovely, I can't fault the food. We ordered more drinks and waited half hour before giving up and leaving.

Had a pork roast dinner and it was incredible!! Stayed and had a few cocktails after our meal and myself and friends ordered the sharing 3 for £15 and had the squid, mozzarella sticks and Mac and cheese bites, everything was so good. Will definitely be returning for another Sunday dinner

Had a fabulous evening meal here, could not fault it. Really tasty, good size portions and very hot. We were also staying in the pub for the weekend and had breakfast both mornings. Again could not fault it. Food was delicious and hot and plenty of it. Service was excellent. Highly recommend it
