About The Master Builder

The Master Builder is a traditional village pub at the heart of the community in West End, on the eastern fringes of Southampton. You can expect home-cooked food, real ales, an open fire and an equally warm welcome. There’s also a small beer garden too. Lunch is served every day, including their popular Sunday Carvery, and the restaurant is open evenings from Tuesday to Saturday with a choice of freshly prepared pub classics alongside daily chef's specials. There’s plenty of space for larger groups here and private event bookings are welcome too. The pub has pool and darts, weekly Bike Nights and Quiz Nights and often has live music at weekends.

We reserved a table for ten older ladies. We had a great meal . Everyone having something different, but all served together. The staff are kind and considerate. The atmosphere friendly. Thank you

Disappointed with the lack of choice for starters. Mushrooms were the only thing that appealed to us. The cottage pie was excellent and so were the jacket potatoes . Again little choice for desserts . Main courses fine but a bit more imagination needed for starters and desserts.

We arrived early but we were able to order our food straight away and the chef agreed to tweak my choice of a small lasagne and side salad instead of chips or garlic bread. The lasagne was absolutely gorgeous and done to perfection as was my husband's sirloin steak. Just the way he had ordered it. There was only a few people dining at the time so the atmosphere was very relaxed.

We had the carvery which was delicious, the meat was tender and vegetables cooked to perfection. This was the first time we have had the carvery and we will most definitely be going back. The staff are helpful and friendly.

I popped in, on my way to the cricket. The barman was very friendly and helpful. I ordered drinks and had gammon with egg, chips and peas. The food was delicious and was one of the best gammon meals that I have eaten . I followed it up with more drinks and mixed berry crumble and custard. This too was delicious. The prices were very reasonable. I used the toilet before I left and they were very clean. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely try and visit again when attending the cricket.
