About The Quarter Lounge

Right opposite the historic Mayflower Theatre at No. 1 Commercial Road in the centre of Southampton, The Quarter Lounge is an independently owned bar and restaurant. It’s on the site of a grand old restaurant and pub that has been brought back to life and is open for pre-theatre dining and hosts regular live music events. There’s regular live music and DJs at weekends and the upstairs restaurant is available for private hire. The menu offers a good choice of starters and mains along with a selection of burgers and build-your-own pizzas. There is also a Bottomless Brunch on Saturdays.

Hmmmm Got there at 6- friend sat and wasn’t asked if she wanted a drink. We do arrive late at 615. We get our order taken at 6.45!( the delay that caused the issue). We had not been able to flag a member of staff down - way too many people and the staff could not cope. Food came out at 7.20….. theatre started at 7.30, paid £16 for a burger I ate out of a box cold in ten interval because we didn’t have the heart to kick up a fuss. Waitress was very apologetic and did discount our drinks but other members of staff seemed less concerned dithering and making her job harder. Would not go back- the mayflower village are excellent and know how to get people through fast and in time for the show.

Twice we have visited and both times we have had a delicious meal. The staff have great customer service and go out of their way to accommodate your needs.

The food and service was awful will not be going back or recommending especially as staff were unaware their was a theatre performance on !! Such a shame as a good location for the mayflower also not pleasant when u can here staff moaning about the customers when I used the toilet

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff who were easy to have a laugh with and accommodating when traffic made us slightly late. Food was lovely, great flavours. The drinks selection is fairly limited, particularly the wine.

The venue & atmosphere was great, staff friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and good portion size. My only complain was the tropical gin tasted of water, I said to the waitress it tasted as if it had been watered down, she took it away and ?gave me another, this tasted exactly the same. So, apart from the ?watered down gin definitely recommend this venue x

Great food and great service, very accomdating and provided smaller meals for those of us with smaller appetites. Staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Great experience, would highly recommend and we will definately be back :-)

Went to The Quarter Lounge for dinner before visiting The Mayflower and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was fun. Service was excellent and the food was divine. I will definitely be recommending TQL to friends and family, and will be visiting again next time I go to a show.

I recently ate here prior to a Theatre trip to the Mayflower. Staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful and food was absolutely delicious 10/10!
