Family run pub with an extensive food offering situated just off the A5 southeast of Oswestry, next to the Montgomery Canal.

About The Queens Head

The Queens Head has been run by the same family since 2006. It’s situated southeast of Oswestry right beside the Montgomery Canal and just off the A5 as you head towards Shrewsbury. The pub is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12 noon with food served until 9pm (5pm Sunday). The menu has loads of choice ranging from British classics like Steak and Ale Pie, Fish and Chips and Gammon Steak to international classics like home-made authentic Spanish Paella, Pastas, Risottos and freshly prepared Pizza. Meat is sourced from local butchers and the eggs are free range from a farm less than 2 miles away. There is a separate kids menu and on Sundays a choice of roasts alongside the main menu.

Food is always good quality, cooked well, presented nicely, portions are good and therefore good value for money. Service is always prompt, polite and friendly. Premises is welcoming and clean.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The conservatory was beautiful but a little chilly. My friends food was spot on but she had ordered her duck pink and it was very well cooked. I ordered a three egg omelette, I ate it all but it was quite disappointing, on the eye, lacked presentation. Overall it was a very pleasant visit.

A fantastic meal at The Queen's Head. We both had the paella which was superb. The service was also excellent. Highly recommended!

Lovely food, good service . Was able to stay as long as we liked chatting after our meal. No rush for us to vacate the table. We were a table of 8 . All had our food at the same time. Thanks

Food is always nice, never had a bad meal here yet. Service is always good too, never left waiting for your food, even if they have birthday party in to cater for. Would recommend this place to anyone.
