About The Queens Head

The Queens Head has been run by the same family since 2006. It’s situated southeast of Oswestry right beside the Montgomery Canal and just off the A5 as you head towards Shrewsbury. The pub is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12 noon with food served until 9pm (5pm Sunday). The menu has loads of choice ranging from British classics like Steak and Ale Pie, Fish and Chips and Gammon Steak to international classics like home-made authentic Spanish Paella, Pastas, Risottos and freshly prepared Pizza. Meat is sourced from local butchers and the eggs are free range from a farm less than 2 miles away. There is a separate kids menu and on Sundays a choice of roasts alongside the main menu.

We found you by chance as we were visiting the Ironworks Centre a few minutes away. What a lucky find!!! Easy to book online, a warm welcoming environment with plenty of parking. We were seated in the conservatory which was bright and warm, clean and comfortable. The menu is excellent, not overwhelming but quality. We had three separate dishes and all were hot, plentiful, well presented and really tasty. There were also choices on a specials board. Dessert menu was again, not overwhelming but with a choice to suit everyone.. we all went for one from the specials board... Filling portions. The IPA ale is highly recommended. The staff were efficient, friendly, welcoming and solicitous. We were all really impressed with the quality of the food, the comfortable welcoming atmosphere and we will certainly return.

Brilliant as ever. We visited last Saturday night and were delighted with the table reserved for us. The waitresses were all very friendly and nothing was too much troubel. The food was all excellent and great value at the price we paid. One of the best places to eat locally

All 3 courses were delicious. Staff and service was great and the bill was quite reasonable. Where we were sitting was right by a doorway in conservatory and people kept walking passed us and we felt in the way. Would have preferred a table elsewhere
