Absolutely amazing food cannot wait to go again

We visited the rivers edge as a family group yesterday for the first time We chose here after reading good reviews and decided to pay a visit for our 30 wedding anniversary dinner. The place was lovely and welcoming Is decorated in a lovely manner. Staff were helpful and friendly. The dinner was great! The meat was so tender and the veg was good. The dessert s were also beautiful. So I would definitely recommend a visit. There always has to be something to point out and for us parking is a bit of an issue at peak times. We had to resort to parking on a housing estate in the village and walk to the restaurant others parked on the country lane as no room in car park. Secondly as beautiful as the food was we waited around 40 minutes for it to come from kitchen to the table and desserts were also slow to arrive. But as I said previously I would definitely return as the food was beautiful

To start with, what a beautiful place outside and in. Great first impression. Secondly waitress was superb, very polite and helpful. Then the Sunday dinner was probably one of the best I’ve had, the meat was to die for and portion was massive. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Unfortunately, our visit was disappointing. My daughter ordered the lasagne but didn’t enjoy it, and my husband had the beef pie, which arrived only lukewarm. We felt the food was below our expectations overall. Sadly, based on this experience, we wouldn’t be returning in a hurry

Fantastic food, full of flavour. Cooked perfectly. Staff always friendly and accomodating. Service fast and attentive. Can't fault the Rivers Edge, and would highly recommend over and over. We will definitely return again and again

A late afternoon form Sunday lunch. Booked using the online portal. Didn’t receive confirmation however an email to The Rivers Edge had confirmation sent. A busy pub we had a dog with us so we’re sat up in the bar area. A friendly welcome and we were shown our table. Drinks order taken, water and treats for the dog. Menus provided and then decisions made. Roast pork for my wife, lamb rump for me. The food arrived with a good selection of vegetables and plenty too, along with a good helping of gravy. Staff were attentive and were not overbearing, keeping an eye on our drinks and asking if we would lime them topped up. Would rate this as one of the best Sunday roasts we’ve had and along with the great service is well worth a visit, though booking would be advised as walk ins were being sadly advised nomavai;ability.
