About The Rivers Edge

The Rivers Edge is a pub, restaurant and holiday park on the banks of the River Honddu at Pandy, just off the A465 Abergavenny to Hereford road. The family owned venue has recently been refurbished both inside and out, with a smart new restaurant and bar area and outside pitches for motorhomes. The Edge restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday and on Sunday lunchtimes for their very popular Sunday Roast. The Rivers Edge also has regular live entertainment and an event space which is available for private hire.

We hit it the day before menus changed so a lot of things weren’t available. I am veggie so it was limited, the guy who served us didn’t approved as when someone rang he asked if they eat normal food not vegetarian, bit odd. Mushrooms ok, nothing special, it was a starter so not many of them, the side salad was also very small, chips were good though. Pretty average over all and not cheap. Our experience doesn’t match all the reviews. Maybe they were having a bad day,

I must say every meal we had (11 of us) was faultless, the beef probably the best I’ve eaten, the whole Sunday dinner was stunning and that went for all of us, great service from the waitresses who couldn’t do enough. Can’t wait to go back and even take the camper for the night at the adjacent site, which looked v well maintained. Thank you

Fantastic Sunday lunch, we had a sharing platter and all the meat was beautifully cooked, amazing crackling on the pork, excellent roasties and Yorkshire puddings! Service was also fantastic throughout, we will be back soon!

My life long friend and I along with our wives and families celebrated our 70th birthday at the rivers edge on Sunday 28th of June 2026. From the outset we were greeted warmly, taken to our table and our lunch order checked. The food was delicious and abundant, very flavourful with attention to presentation. All the waitresses were so attentive and polite. I would highly recommend and will visit again soon

We had a meal at the restaurant during our stay and were really impressed. The food was delicious, well presented, and excellent value for money. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We'll definitely be eating here again the next time we're in the area. Highly recommended!

We had a 5pm reservation on one of the hottest days. We were seated even though we arrived 15 minutes early. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. The food was served piping hot after a 10-15 minute wait. We had lasagne and garlic chicken with cheesy garlic bread which we both thoroughly enjoyed , then we had the Penderyn whiskey and white chocolate tart. Absolutely lovely. We will definitely be returning.

Sunday lunch at The Rivers Edge was absolutely gorgeous. The slow cooked Beef was the best I have tasted in a good while, and there were plenty of vegetables and tasty gravy. My daughter had the Roulade for dessert which was really delicious and generously portioned. My only criticism is that they werent serving coffee for the end of the meal, but that’s pretty minor.
