About The Rivers Edge

The Rivers Edge is a pub, restaurant and holiday park on the banks of the River Honddu at Pandy, just off the A465 Abergavenny to Hereford road. The family owned venue has recently been refurbished both inside and out, with a smart new restaurant and bar area and outside pitches for motorhomes. The Edge restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday and on Sunday lunchtimes for their very popular Sunday Roast. The Rivers Edge also has regular live entertainment and an event space which is available for private hire.

Went up on Sunday for a roast for my birthday. The food is outstanding, best roast i ever had, staff serving the food are lovely. This is the 2nd time and it was as good. Will be back again when we have another celebration.

Arrived early expecting to sit outside until our table was ready but shown straight to our table where a waitress quickly came and took our drinks order while we decided what we wanted to eat ,we both had garlic mushrooms starters with a beef mains for the Mrs and I had lamb the food was absolutely outstanding and the service ,was also second to none I will be highly recommending this place to my friends and family and can't wait to call in again myself

After a pretty horrific two months this was the first time we had time together at home let alone gone out. I’d booked a table thinking it was just the two of us when the family dog also arrived. I hadn’t realised there was a separate part of booking form for this. This was handled seamlessly and we were shown a dog friendly alternative table, in a quieter corner. The food is always exceptional but this time I had the pork, I had been worried it would be too much but it was so good I just couldn’t stop eating it. Whilst the food was excellent I must say the service was exceptional. I have never had such sensitive service whilst also being given space. I would say the very expensive restaurants I have been to could certainly learn something from her. I am so grateful this is our local and really hope that our lives will level out and we can actually make our visits more regularly!

The meal we had last night was excellent. My wife's steak was cooked to perfection (she's really picky about how it is cooked!) and was tender and seasoned perfectly. My steak and onion pie was brilliant, lots of tender steak pieces and a fantastic gravy. The River's Edge is going to be our new "local".

Have visited for Sunday lunch on a previous occasion and really enjoyed the Sunday lunch platter for two which consisted of all meats plus veg and cauliflower cheese for £45. Was gorgeous. Booked again and was disappointed to find that there was no longer a Sunday platter for two. The reason being it was to busy. When we were there it wasnt busy at all so really at a loss as to why it was taken offf the menu. But you could have the other meats at an extra cost plus the cauliflower cheese was extra which pushed the price up quite a lot. Meal was lovely but disappointing that it is no longer value for Money. Won’t be back !
