About The Rivers Edge

The Rivers Edge is a pub, restaurant and holiday park on the banks of the River Honddu at Pandy, just off the A465 Abergavenny to Hereford road. The family owned venue has recently been refurbished both inside and out, with a smart new restaurant and bar area and outside pitches for motorhomes. The Edge restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday and on Sunday lunchtimes for their very popular Sunday Roast. The Rivers Edge also has regular live entertainment and an event space which is available for private hire.

Excellent value all round. Food exceptional as usual. We had booked a table for 5 but unfortunately on morning of visit my dad was unwell. Phoned before hand and we were able to have a take out for 2 which was amazing. No trouble at all.

We ate at the restaurant on Sunday for the first time not knowing what to expect in terms of food quality and service. The food exceeded our expectations, service was excellent and the views from the restaurant absolutely stunning. Can't wait to go back again.

We ate at the restaurant twice. The food was absolutely stunning. I would recommend the pie which I can honestly say is the best I’ve ever had. Sunday lunch is simply something else. We had the sharing platter. It was plentiful and accompanied by a wide range of beautifully cooked vegetables. The meats were varied, beef, lamb, chicken and pork, and perfectly cooked. The beef was outstanding, so tender it falls off your fork. The lamb was just the right shade of pink with a gorgeously crisp skin. The young servers are great. Polite and efficient at all times. Nothing is too much trouble. Value for money is good given the quality of ingredients and standard of cooking. Lovely atmosphere on the Sunday.

Attended for Sunday lunch sharing platter, was absolutely stunned with the presentation of the food, along with 4 different meats (which were cooked perfectly). Staff were efficient and friendly Even stayed for desert Cannot wait to come back

Thank you so much for a really nice evening. The food was excellent and affordable and as a fairly large group, you made us comfortable and we had space to enjoy the meal together. I wish we had come when it was sunnier as the only part we'd improve is to be able to eat in the garden looking at the view. Thank you very much again

Don't pre book unless you 100% know you can attend or they'll charge you £5 per head regardless of your circumstances. I booked on the day in the morning but unfortunately had to cancel in the afternoon after my dog was in a tragic traffic accident and got hit by a car. I explained the reason and got zero compassion or empathy from the staff. I would have rebooked at a later date as I only live down the road but I sadly won't be returning now. They're sadly not realising that their strict policy to charge for cancellations is actually going to cost them more in the long run from genuine loyal customers who would have revisited time and time again.

Visited on a number of occasions….Sunday lunch, Christmas meal and weekdays lunch. On all occasions the service was first class, the food was superb and of a high quality. Can’t recommend enough and will certainly be back.
