We celebrated my sisters birthday at The Roebuck on thurs 8th. Oct 2009. After reading some reviews a while back, on an earlier occasion we gave it a miss. However after speaking to a guy who lives locally he was more than surprised that people had given it poor reviews. So with a genuine recommendation I made a reservation. Nobody was disappointed. We all chose quite different meals & all were more than pleased. Give it a try, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

On a visit to Marlborough from Ireland it was recommended to us to stop into the Roebuck for the food. I took my family there on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon in summer and we sat in the garden. As soon as we had sat down the waitress was upon us with a warm welcome and the menus. Drinks were ordered and appeared very quickly (the beer is excellent!) We all ordered the Sunday beef lunch and i can honestly say after the exploratory tasting i am in the habit of doing the rest of the meal didn't touch the sides. My wife said the Yorkshire pudding was the best she had ever eaten and even our kids became quietly engrossed in their dinner. This is no ordinary Sunday lunch down the local pub. Everything about it was done with care from the presentation, to the obvious quality of the meat and best of all was the price. I am used to paying high prices for run of the mill meals but here the dinner was very inexpensive for such a high standard. Jesus i haven't even mentioned the cheesecake! When i went to pay, the landlord looked at my ticket and asked me if everything was ok from the beef to the veg to the puddings and drinks and he was genuinely interested in what i said, i had nothing but compliments to give him and i genuinely meant it too! It is a great pub to visit and we ate their twice more that week before leaving for home.

My friend and I came across the Roebuck inn on a shopping visit to Marlborough. The decor was lovely and we received a very warm welcome from the landlord. We placed a small lunch order which arrived quite quickly and was very well presented, All veggies are fresh (none of your frozen muck)
