Wednesday 6.30, we'd booked -the only diners there- but it took 45 mins.for any food to appear (no starter ordered). Tardy kitchen, waitress fine. Great very well-kept Taylors Landlord ale and very good absolute bargain priced chicken tikka masala served with requested sliced chili to add a bit more heat. We'll come again but at a busier time because we know from past experience that this place can do better and it's likely that the kitchen needs the stimulus of greater numbers.

We had a very enjoyable and delicious Easter Sunday lunch at The Royal George. We were sat immediately at our table, drinks orders were taken and service was very friendly and attentive throughout. The homemade sausage roll starter was superb! We opted for the choice of extra meat with our roasts, and our server kindly let us know we could mix the meat selections. The mains were all great, beautifully presented and very ample portions. We had eyed desserts, but were too full to enjoy them at the table. We opted to take away the salted caramel cheesecake and the chocolate lumpy bumpy cake, which were both excellent later that evening. A great meal for all of us!

Went for a meal last night as we have had good food in the past here. But when we arrived we was only offered a bar menu. When I asked could we see the main menu we was told that the chef had left and that’s all that was available. I don’t understand why we was not informed by email or phone that this was the case considering I booked the table over a week before the day. So we just had a drink and left.

We booked a table for 6 people to join the Thursday evening quiz. On arrival we discovered that we had been seated in an area which would make it impossible to participate in the quiz and no other table was available to us. We then overheard the waitress informing another table of diners that half of the ‘special’ menu was not available. I cannot score the food as we left before ordering. This was an evening booked to celebrate a birthday and we were very disappointed. We like to support local businesses where possible but we will unfortunately not be returning.

I booked a room for the night to meet family and to have a lovely meal, which we was expecting, from pictures and all the good reviews, however this wasn't to be. We were only given the option for the bar menu, all dishes were obviously from frozen and ping and ding. Beef burger was the worse I've ever tasted, probably 10% beef at most, and very rubbery.. very odd texture.

Party of 8 of us for Sunday lunch, the smells coming from the kitchen were amazing and it didn’t disappoint! Great food, very fresh, the young waiting staff were excellent, really attentive. Great value for money. The restaurant was full, so in these hard times it just shows - serve good food, train your staff well and deliver all at a decent price point. We’ll be back!

It was a Tuesday, so not very busy. We had the bar menu, steak pie and chips. All home made, even the chips. They were really good. Pie had lots of meat in. Overall, prices were good and it was very nice. Staff were lovely…. We will be back to try the a la carte menu

The new menu is wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious and there's something for everyone. Excellent value for money. Excellent choice of drinks. The staff were brilliant. Very attentive without being over bearing. An excellent balance. Dog friendly as well
