About The School House

As the name suggests, The School House in the Northumbrian village of Lucker is a former school building that has been lovingly restored and re-opened as a family- and dog-friendly country kitchen. It’s situated a few miles inland from Bamburgh and midway between Alnwick and Berwick. Open from 8am to 4pm daily, The School House offers a fresh menu made from locally sourced ingredients served in an idyllic rural setting. It’s fully licensed too so you can drop in for a cup of tea and a cake or a relaxed meal with a glass of fizz. If you fancy an overnight stay, The Apple Inn over the road is under the same ownership.

We had breakfast @ The School House on a Saturday as part of our Mill House Cottage package. The school house is set in a great location and is simply a lovely environment. The Breakfast choice was great with the food itself very tasty and ample portions for all. Complimented with the service which was excellent, this was a very enjoyable experience that we will definitely look to return to in the future.

We had breakfast in the School House with lots of choices and it's an open kitchen so you can see your food being prepared ...could not fault any of it .. we had full English bacon crispy...sausage flavoursome.. Ours was part of a spa package but tge prices are reasonable and food 1st class

Called at the schoolhouse before we started our long journey home after a lovely week in Beadnell. We had the full English breakfast and I must say it was amazing, even our dog got a sausage. The schoolhouse has a lovely atmosphere and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.
