About The Ship Gidea Park

The Ship at Gidea Park is a Romford pub with a storied history dating back to 1762. It’s Grade II-listed and has retained its picture-postcard appearance both inside and out. Expect wooden beams, low ceilings, wood-panelled walls and huge fireplaces. The Ship is both family run and independent and is renowned for its home-cooked food and cask ales. There’s also a good selection of wines and a special gin menu. They also run regular events, including live music nights, and the Ship is available for private hire for your own special event.

Always enjoy going to The Ship. It’s a lovely pub, friendly warm atmosphere, staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Had a lovely Sunday roast this weekend. Will be back.

Visited for a midweek lunch. Lovely warm feel to the place. Staff were friendly and smiling. We both had the steak and ale pie, which was delicious and served with plenty of gravy and a selection of veg. Very enjoyable visit.

Excellent bottomless brunch. Great atmosphere, food was good and was never without a drink! Great choice of drinks on the bottomless menu. Added to that was a good DJ who had us dancing the afternoon away. Would highly recommend

Was so very disappointed with Sunday ĺunch after hearing such good vibes. We received a really warm welcome, service was excellent, a really lovely atmosphere created by friendly staff. So, all was good until the food arrived Had Rosemary beef however, no rosemary taste, food was warm not hot, carrots overboiled as soft, peas hard and roast potatoes like bricks. Staff sensed our disappointment and made every effort to appease. I can understand that these things do happen therefore, will return to hopefully enjoy a more satisfactory culinery experience.
