First ever visit. We were greeted by a member of staff. Guided to table. The menu choice is vast. Not expensive. Average £25 per adult person with drinks. Food ordered. And was cooked to our specifications. Overall. The staff. Chef. Were excellent. And will be back. Children are well catered for. Totally recommend

I honestly can put fault this small pub/restaurant every time myself and my wife have eaten here the food has always been amazing and the staff are always super polite and attentive! Will be coming back for sure

Sadly this was our first time here, we had heard amazing things about the food so was excited to book a table and come from Telford to visit. My friends coming from Shrewsbury. We ordered food which took 45 mins to come. The starter that was £9.50 was 4 small halloumi fries. Couldn’t believe the price. The main then came out again 40 mins after the starters were eventually collected, this was a 16oz rump steak. We had no cutlery from when we had the starters so had to ask for this. The waitress told us when they eventually delivered the food the chef had called in sick so they had to get someone in. On the plate was a tomato with no skin and half a pot of chips and the supposed 16oz steak. This was £33. Sadly we was not happy with the meal. My friends had the same as myself and her steak couldn’t even be cut. If this was the case and the chef wasn’t there a courtesy call to state this would have been better and we could have made other plans. This visit has been a huge let down and nothing like advertised.

We visited on 15/01 for a birthday meal, the food was excellent especially the steak and ale pie. Service was friendly and the price reasonable.

We visited as a group recently during the 40% off promotion. The food was excellent, there were 13 of us and everyone’s meals looked lovely. value was excellent and Louise looked after us incredibly well, worked very hard. Thank you Louise.

When you have spent a few days cooking for the family, I was so looking forward to our meal at The Smokey Cow....... We were told we could sit wherever we wanted even though we had booked. That's not how to do it, make your guests feel special, show them to their table, give them their menu or take their drinks order. I made the effort to book with you, at least make the effort to acknowledge that. We were told that there were no ribs (again, that's the third time), no scampi, no SF chicken and no hand cut chips. Disappointed to say the least! My fiancé and son chose burgers each which were ok but not what they had wanted. I chose Mac and cheese and asked for buffalo chicken, also not what I had wanted but thought it would be tasty. No buffalo chicken and no garlic pretzel. I chose bacon and a side salad. Putting a very small amount of salad by a warm dish is not okay. Come on! The Mac and cheese was over cooked, tasted odd, almost old. I could not be bothered to say anything as the staff were too busy chatting to everyone at the bar. The girl serving us was sweet and did her job well but what's the point in complaining when the food was poor and half of it missing from the menu. £5 for a small dish of seasoned fries is unfair! To add insult to injury, the girl serving us came over, dumped cheap crackers on the table and said her supervisor had told her to do so. We left them, our Christmas spirit has been squashed We have always had a lovely time at the Smokey Cow but this was far from acceptable. It is no excuse whatsoever that you have been busy over Christmas. Poor planning. Don't open for food if you cannot manage it. Not sure what went wrong but nobody seemed bothered. Used to be a great place to go! Sad times!

Had a super time at The Smokey Cow. Food was delicious and the service was great. A lovely place that I have returned to on different occasions.

As much as this place looks nice the food was the worst I tried this year… and prices really didn’t reflected what we received on our plate! Let’s start from the chicken and Pulled beef Bao buns for a starter… Chicken had more coating than actual meat which is really frustrating. And don’t get me start with the Bao Buns… pulled beef the hint in the name right!? Instead I received the cut offs of roasted beef -chewy, no seasoning not even tiny bit of lettuce or something - but no! just plain Bao bun, soaked in sriracha sauce and chewy beef slice….my lips were still burning by the next day! Steak and chips looked ok but had to remind about the side sauce. I ordered the pulled beef brisket! Again! This is not pulled beef brisket! Pulled brisket should fall apart, melt in your mouth l, be juicy! I received in my plate same beef slices as I got in my bun ! Best thing about my meal was chips! Beans were cold as well. True disappointment! They either don’t had chef that day or this place go down the hill! And the bonus from all this me and my mates stomach wasn’t the bestest that evening after we were back from dinner.. what a Saturday! Owners should get back on track very rapidly! Otherwise it is close to disaster
